Etihad Airways makes a revolutionizing move to attract US-bound Indian travelers. The airline is adding more flights between the USA and India to further enhance the travel experience. Now, Etihad passengers traveling to USA from India can make use of the US preclearance in Abu Dhabi. 

By relocating the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) facility to the new terminal at Zayed International Airport, Etihad Airways aims to streamline the pre-clearance process for passengers bound for the USA. This move will provide passengers with a dedicated lounge. Etihad will also offer seamless connections to numerous US cities through partnerships with American Airlines and JetBlue.

When will US Preclearance in Abu Dhabi be shifted to the new terminal?

The US preclearance facility will likely be shifted to the new terminal at Zayed International Airport by September 2024. This will offer Etihad passengers seamless connections to a number of US cities. Apart from the CBP facility, the new lounge will also have a first and business class lounge dedicated to the US pre-cleared passengers.

Etihad Airways currently serves major US cities like New York (JFK), Chicago, Boston, and Washington. However, the airline plans to double its presence in the US by expanding its route network. What does Etihad have in store for Indian passengers? 

Leveraging its pre-clearance facility, Etihad is strategically targeting the Indian market to boost its flights to USA and vice versa. With significant available capacity for additional flights to India, Etihad Airways aims to capitalize on the growing demand for travel between the two countries.

Etihad is also making adjustments to appeal to the Indian passenger base. It has taken several initiatives such as sourcing meals from India for return flights and employing a diverse workforce with a significant number of Indian crew members.
