As the main international hub, Terminal 5 at Chicago ORD is open 24/7. It connects to other terminals through the Airport Transit System (ATS), which is free, fast, and convenient. Amenities at Terminal 5 include:

Customs and Immigration at Terminal 5

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) welcomes all international arrivals at Chicago O’Hare International Airport’s Terminal 5. As a traveler, you can exit your gate and follow clearly marked sterile corridors to Primary Inspection. After immigration, you can collect all checked baggage and pass through agriculture screening before exiting. Luggage porters assist with bags in the claim area. If connecting to other terminals, you can recheck luggage and proceed via the free Airport Transit System. 

Global Entry at ORD

Global Entry at Chicago ORD Terminal 5 is available for international passengers arriving in the USA through Chicago O’Hare International Airport. The program allows expedited clearance through automated kiosks, helping travelers save time at immigration. Arriving Indians in Chicago can also make clearance faster by using Global Entry.

In addition to using Global Entry upon arrival, travelers can also complete their enrollment process at O’Hare. The Global Entry Enrollment Center, located in Terminal 5, is open Monday to Friday from 8:15 AM to 3:30 PM. Applicants must schedule an interview in advance and bring all required documents.

Food at Chicago Airport Terminal 5

Food at Terminal 5 offers plenty of choices. You’ll find Dunkin’, McDonald’s and other grab-and-go kiosks in case you don’t have time to sit and eat. For sit-down meals, you can try Tocco’s Italian dishes or Big Bowl’s Asian flavors. Wow Bao is great for bao, noodles, and soups and Hub 51 serves drinks and bites. Farmers Fridge and Dunkin’ are open 24 hours. If you are traveling with your family, you must visit R.J. Grunts Burgers & Fries. 

Lounges at Chicago Airport International Terminal 5

Terminal 5 has two lounges serving different airlines. The SAS Lounge, near Gate M19, is used by SAS and Asiana Airlines. Access is for SAS Business, Plus, Star Alliance Business, and elite members. You can also purchase a day pass at just $39. The Swissport Lounge, between Gates M7 and M8, can be used by first and business class passengers on Air India, Etihad, Turkish and Emirates flights. Priority Pass members can also enter. The Swissport Lounge at Terminal 5 runs daily from 7 AM to 11 PM, except on Dec 25 and Jan 1.

Pet Relief Areas at Terminal 5 

In case you are traveling with your pet, Terminal 5 has a designated pet relief area. It is located outside security on the lower level near Door 5B. Service animals are welcome throughout the airport. However, non-service pets must be leashed and remain in a kennel. This facility ensures comfort and convenience for pets before or after international travel.
