There’s no doubt that a power bank becomes your best buddy on any journey. Be it a road trip or air travel, a power bank plays an important role to keep any electronic device charged whenever in need. Apart from the convenience that this gadget offers, there’s a question that may still come to mind. Can you take power banks on plane? Well, it’s not just a simple yes or no as the airlines and aviation authorities keep enforcing strict safety rules.

The rules may vary, but knowing what’s allowed can save you from last-minute hassles at the airport. Let’s break it down for you, especially if you’re planning trips between the USA and India.

Can You Take Power Banks on Plane?

Yes, you can take power banks on a plane, but with conditions. Passengers are allowed to carry power banks on a plane but only in their carry-on bags. As per TSA, power bans are NOT permitted in checked luggage. This is due to the risks of a lithium-ion battery overheating or worse, fire on a plane. Cases of fire in the hold are far more dangerous and difficult to manage than those in the cabin.

Emirates Ban Use of Power Banks Onboard

Emirates has recently banned using the power bank onboard. Neither to charge other electronic devices nor to be charged using the aircraft’s power supply. While carrying a power bank in a cabin bag remains constant to all airlines, Emirates now allows only one power bank that too under 100 watt hours. If you are planning to travel to India with Emirates, then you must ensure compliance of Emirates new power bank rule.

Also Read: Essential Rules to Carry Electronics from USA to India

Indigo airlines lets you carry power banks only in a cabin bag under 160 watt hours. If you are traveling on Air India flights, only two spare batteries are allowed in cabin bags and must be packed individually to prevent short circuits as per TATA Group instructions.

So, Can You Take Power Banks on Plane?

Absolutely yes, but make sure to check the latest airline policy before you travel. Keep them in your cabin baggage, as most airlines, including those flying between the USA and India, don’t permit power banks in checked luggage due to the safety concerns. The rules mainly depend on the power capacity (measured in mAh or Wh), and airlines may have specific restrictions you need to follow.

If your travel plans involve long-haul journeys like flights to India from USA, carrying a fully charged power bank can be a real necessity. Just ensure it’s packed according to airline rules, and you’re good to go. If you’re looking for affordable flight booking options then Indian Eagle best deals is all you need. Indian Eagle makes your journey both budget-friendly and hassle-free. So, if you are traveling anytime soon, just visit Indianeagle.com!

Frequently Asked Questions

Which airlines do not allow power banks on planes?

No airline allows power banks in checked luggage, because of the fire risk from lithium-ion batteries. Most airlines worldwide generally allow power banks in cabin baggage, as long as they fall within the capacity limit (usually up to 100Wh).

Can I carry a portable charger on a plane?

Absolutely! Portable chargers (power banks) are permitted on planes as long as they meet airline regulations regarding capacity. Always pack them in your carry-on bag.

Can you take a large power bank on a plane?

Large power banks are subject to stricter rules. Generally, power banks over 160Wh are not permitted on flights. If you’re carrying a higher-capacity power bank (100Wh–160Wh), check with your airline in advance to avoid issues at security.

Imagine yourself sitting on an airplane seat and being welcomed by a wide panorama under the skies. The awe-inspiring views outside the airplane window will make every moment spent on that long-haul flight worth it. If you are flying through JFK, the view of the New York skyline is exceptional. And if you are lucky, you may also be able to spot the Northern Lights, right from the comfort of your seat. But which aircraft has the largest airplane windows in the world?

Well, the answer is the iconic Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The aircraft has carried over a billion passengers and is faster than any other wideboy jet. Not just this, the Boeing 787 dreamliner window offers the best views as it’s the largest on any commercial widebody aircraft in operation.  Indeed, when you board a Dreamliner, you’re boarding the plane with one of the most immersive cabin environments in aviation history.

How large are Boeing 787 Dreamliner windows?

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner window measures around 10.7″ by 18.4″ (27.2 cm by 46.7 cm), making it a plane with the largest airplane windows in the modern commercial fleet. They’re roughly 70% bigger than windows on similar planes, and they shift the ambience of your flight immediately from cramped vessel to a bright, airy, inviting cabin.

How are Boeing 787 Dreamliner windows so large?

It comes back to the labor of engineering. The Dreamliner fuselage is built out of composite materials rather than conventional aluminum sections. This new structure constructed from single-piece composite “barrel” sections is what allows Boeing to have longer windows without sacrificing strength or fatigue resistance.

But larger windows are merely half the tale. The magic is in the airplane windows trend of integrating electrochromic dimming. Rather than clumsy pull-down shades, Dreamliner windows employ a smart gel layer that darkens electrically. Travelers (or the flight attendants) can tweak the degree of opacity seamlessly, bidding farewell to glare and welcoming the coziness.

This focus on windows isn’t about looks, it actually helps with flying comfortably. Greater natural light, improved sights, and intelligent dimming complement improved cabin pressure and humidity to reduce fatigue and jet lag. In simpler words, these larger Boeing 787 Dreamliner windows make long-distance flights feel like less of a long haul.

Boeing is still innovating. The newest generation Boeing 777X will have even larger windows, marking a new era in comfort and style for plane enthusiasts.

So the next time you’re searching for flights to USA, why not pick an experience that surprises you even before you take off? With Indian Eagle best deals, you can get wallet-friendly flights on planes. You can also request the Indian Eagle customer service team if you can possibly have a seat on a Boeing 787 Dreamliner flight, making your window seat truly special.

In the new story of travel, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner window offers passengers an escape from closed cabins with views of the stunning sky. Would you love to see out of the largest airplane windows in the world? Comment below and let us know which route will make the views special.

Reasons For Flight Delays
Source: Travel Diary

Key Takeaways:

  • Weather, air traffic, technical issues, security, crew availability, and airport operations all contribute to flight delays.
  • Many delays are beyond the airline’s control, such as storms, regulations, or congestion in airspace and airports.
  • Tracking flights, allowing extra time, choosing less busy airports, and staying patient can help travelers manage delays effectively.

Coffee in hand, you wait, anticipation builds… then the words hit: “Flight delayed.” Frustration rises, but there’s more beneath the surface. Weather changes, busy air traffic, careful maintenance checks, security screenings, and crew rotations all play a part in when flights depart. Here’s a closer look at the key reasons for flight delay and their effects.

Impact of Weather on Flight Schedules

It’s raining. Or foggy. Or snowing. You can’t control it, and neither can the airline. Pilots won’t take off if safety is at risk. Even if the sun shines at your terminal, storms far away can stretch the timeline. Weather shifts can force air traffic control to hold planes on the ground, each delay echoing across the network like waves.

Role of Air Traffic in Flight Delays

Passengers hurry through terminals while planes fill the skies above. At peak hours, controllers carefully coordinate dozens of flights, making sure each one stays on course and leaves safely. Your flight may be ready, yet it must wait for its moment in the sky’s intricate rhythm. They make sure planes stay safely apart and keep everything moving without mishaps.

Planes Need Regular Maintenance Before Takeoff

Planes are amazing, but they need care. Routine inspections sometimes reveal minor technical issues. Grounded for now, the plane cannot soar until every fault is corrected. Engines hum under watchful eyes, hydraulics pulse, avionics light up, and landing gear is examined as inspectors leave nothing unchecked. Only when each system is cleared does safety allow takeoff.

Impact of Airport Security on Departures

Checking bags, IDs, and running extra security screenings can slow things down. Even one long line can delay a flight. These procedures are in place to catch prohibited items and protect passengers and crew. Annoying as it is, it’s all essential.

Airport Logistics Impact Departures

A plane waits, engines humming, yet obstacles emerge. A lone suitcase lingers, a runway lies blocked, and the gate shifts unexpectedly. In the pulse of the busy airport, every part must align for the journey to continue. Gates, baggage, runways, and crews all have to work together, or the delay affects everyone.

Domino Effect of Late Arrivals

Your plane isn’t isolated. A late incoming flight can delay your departure, especially if the aircraft or crew are shared. One delay doesn’t just affect your flight. Airlines often use the same plane and crew for multiple trips, so a problem in one city can throw off a bunch of departures.

Airport Rules Affect Flight Delays

Local laws and international agreements create strict airport protocols. Extra screenings, liquid limits, and other checks take time, but they ensure safety. Designed to intercept forbidden items, these regulations protect passengers, crew, and aircraft from possible dangers.

Crew Schedules Affect Flight Departures

Imagine a plane on the tarmac, ready to go, but one pilot is still finishing their required rest. Cabin crew members are following mandatory duty hours. Until everyone is cleared and alert, the flight cannot depart. Even a few missing staff members can slow everything down. During busy travel times, these small shortages often lead to noticeable delays for passengers.

How to Manage Flight Delays

  • Add Extra Time: Don’t let a delay catch you off guard.
  • Stay Informed: Track your flight constantly with apps and airport updates.
  • Consider Smaller Airports: Fewer flights, less chaos.
  • Master Your Patience: A calm traveler navigates delays with ease.

Conclusion

Your flight being delayed usually isn’t just bad luck. Weather can ground planes, other flights might arrive late, and a crew member running behind can add to the hold-up. It all adds u Security checks and airport logistics add more variables. The cumulative effect of these elements explains most delays. Passengers who grasp this can stay patient and understand that airlines are actively managing complexity to maintain safety and reliability.

FAQs

What are the most common reasons flights get delayed?
Flight delays can happen due to weather, air traffic congestion, technical issues with the aircraft, security checks, airport operations, connecting flights, strict regulations, or crew availability. Often, multiple factors contribute simultaneously.

Can weather alone cause long flight delays?
Yes. Thunderstorms, snow, fog, or heavy rain can prevent planes from taking off or landing safely. Even if your airport is clear, delays at the destination or en route can ripple back and cause long delays for your flight.

How does air traffic congestion affect flight schedules?
During busy travel times, airports and skies are crowded. Air traffic controllers must sequence takeoffs and landings carefully, which can result in planes waiting on the runway or in holding patterns before departure.

How do connecting flights influence delays?
If an incoming flight arrives late, the aircraft and crew for the next flight may be delayed. One delay at a hub can ripple across several connected flights.

Can airport operations themselves cause delays?
Absolutely. Gate availability, runway maintenance, baggage handling, and other logistical issues can disrupt the smooth flow of flights, resulting in delays.

If you’re traveling soon to the USA, make sure you’re aware of some recent updates from the TSA. Especially when planning long-haul trips between India and the USA  Staying informed is the key to avoiding last-minute hassles at the airport and for that the new TSA banned items 2025 list is here. It’s something every traveler must be aware of from the very beginning of their itinerary planning to the USA.

Recently, the TSA rolled out some important updates on the checked baggage, and the new TSA banned items list could directly affect what you pack in your checked luggage. Here’s what’s changed and why it matters!

What’s Now Prohibited in Checked Luggage?

There are many things that are prohibited at the airports but the TSA’s focus remains squarely on fire and hazard prevention. Here’s a breakdown of the latest additions under the new TSA banned items 2025, prompted by fire risks and battery mishaps:

  • Due to the potential for fuel leaks, cordless curling irons and flat irons with gas cartridges are no longer permitted in checked baggage.
  • Butane-powered flat irons and curling irons: It is forbidden to bring any equipment that uses butane gas in checked luggage.
  • Gas refills (spare cartridges) for flat irons or curling irons: It is strictly prohibited to bring extra cartridges in your checked luggage.

Why These Bans?

The new items banned by TSA reflect real safety threats. There have been several incidents involving lithium batteries overheating or worse causing in-flight emergencies or evacuations. One such case happened aboard an Air Busan flight in early 2025, prompting sharper scrutiny.

Similarly, gas-powered styling tools pose risks if their fuel ignites. The TSA and FAA determined these were too costly to ignore when placed in the aircraft’s cargo hold.

Also Read: How do you Recover Your Items at Airport Security? A Guide to TSA Lost and Found!

TSA Bans New Item from Checked Bags

Item Type Action Needed
Cordless curling irons or flat irons with gas cartridges Do not pack in checked bags
Butane-fueled curling irons or flat irons Leave out of checked bags
Gas refills (spare cartridges) for hair styling tools Strictly prohibited in checked bags

In short, these TSA new banned items aren’t optional—they’re imperative for your safety and peace of mind.

Strange but Allowed

Believe it or not, TSA allows a few delightfully unexpected items to pass through security—provided they’re packed right. According to recent reports, travelers have cleared checkpoints with live lobsters (in spill-proof containers), light-up Christmas lights, toy lightsabers, and even antlers or cowboy spurs—so long as they’re not affixed to boots. It’s not just whimsical souvenirs, either: welcome in carry-on luggage, and sometimes in checked luggage  These unusual allowances highlight how TSA regulation isn’t just about what’s prohibited—it also surprises and delights in what’s permitted, giving you more flexibility to pack smart (and sometimes, creatively).

Smart Packing Tips & Why It Matters

  1. Check before you pack: If unsure whether something is banned or restricted, head over to the TSA’s “What Can I Bring?” page or AskTSA online.
  2. Carry critical gear: Place electronics, spares, and cord-less styling tools in your cabin luggage, ideally turned off and well-protected.
  3. Plan ahead with Indian Eagle flight deals: Knowing what’s permissible helps avoid frantic repacking at the airport when booking your flights to USA or elsewhere.

Travel thrives on preparation. By staying updated with the new tsa banned items 2025, you save yourself from lost time, last-minute surprises, or worse, confiscated essentials. Especially when you’ve snagged the best airfare deals through Indian Eagle!

There has been a 3x increase in business class bookings on international flights. On long-haul USA-India routes, many travelers now choose premium cabins like Premium Economy and Business Class. The leading operator on the route, Air India, is also planning to add more premium seats as part of its broader expansion plans.

Air India nonstop flights remain a popular choice for convenience, though recent airspace restrictions have added to travel time. Meanwhile, Qatar Airways continues to attract those seeking luxury through its Qsuites. This article explores Qatar Airways Qsuites vs Air India business class on the Airbus A350, helping you decide what’s best for your trip.

Qatar Airways QSuites vs Air India Business Class in A350

A350 Fleet

When adding widebody aircraft to their fleets, most airlines are now opting for Airbus A350 for operational flexibility, superior fuel efficiency and of course passenger comfort. Qatar Airways was the launch customer and largest operator of A350, having 58 A350 jets in service and 18 on order. Meanwhile, Air India fleet only has 6 Airbus A350s in service and 44 are on order.

Award-Winning Business Class Airline

Qatar Airways has been winning the title of “World’s Best Business Class” for nine consecutive years now at the prestigious Skytrax World Airline Awards. From lounges to inflight services, Qatar Airways offers the best business class product. Air India, on the other hand, is trying to enhance its business class offering after the takeover by Tatas.

While Air India Boeing 777 is often criticized for its older aircraft, broken seats, sub-par inflight entertainment system and 2-3-2 seating configuration. The new Air India A350 business class offers spacious business class seats and cleaner cabins. Although many believe the Qatar Airways QSuites are still better.

Best Business Class Seat

When traveling, comfortable and spacious seats are what passengers need. Qatar Airways takes a lead here as the airline’s QSuite has been awarded “World’s Best Business Class seat” by Skytrax. According to a passenger who flew from Dallas to Delhi via Doha, Qatar Airways A350 Qsuite has 46 seats. 38 in the front cabin and 8 more behind the business class entry. The 1-2-1 layout ensures each passenger gets direct aisle access. The footwell is generous, the spacious Qatar Airways business class seat transforms into a fully flat bed with 180° recline and doors ensure complete privacy.

While Air India business class seats on Boeing 777 were significantly older and criticized, the seats on the new Airbus A350 aircraft are well-received by passengers. The business class cabins in Air India A350s have 28 seats, all of which fit between the front and second doors. When compared to Qatar Airways, Air India has a smaller business class cabin but follows the same 1-2-1 layout. Air India passengers in business class also get a 79” full flat bed with privacy doors, making it a perfect private suite.

Award-Winning Airport Lounge

Qatar Airways’ Al Mourjan Lounge- The Garden at Hamad International Airport has been named the World’s Best Business Class Airline Lounge at the Skytrax Awards 2025. The lounge offers exceptional services for passengers traveling from the USA to India via Doha. Open 24/7, it features a spa, quiet rooms, fitness center and fine dining options. What sets it apart is access to the world’s first Louis Vuitton Lounge by Yannick Alléno, reserved for Qatar Airways business class and first class travelers. Qatar Airways has also partnered with many airport lounges in USA and India to offer business class travelers a comfortable airport experience.

Air India lounges are available both in India and USA. The Air India Maharaja Lounge at JFK Airport is located at Terminal 4 and is open for business class passengers from 10:30 AM to 8 PM. It offers standard lounge facilities, including comfortable seating, complimentary food, internet access and accessibility support. Air India has also partnered with other premium lounges like Swissport Lounge at Chicago O’Hare and SAS Lounge at Newark Liberty to offer passengers lounge experience. As the Maharaja Lounge at Delhi’s T3 is under renovations, the airline has partnered with Encalm Privé lounge

Nonstop Flights from USA to India

Qatar Airways does not operate nonstop flights between the USA and India. Instead, it offers one-stop connections via Doha from major U.S. cities, including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, Atlanta, Houston, New York, Chicago, Washington, Boston, Dallas, Philadelphia, and Miami. Travel time depends on the layover in Doha. For example, flight 702 / 578 from New York JFK to Delhi takes around 18 hours 25 minutes, while flight 704 / 578 on the same route can take up to 29 hours 5 minutes.

Air India takes the lead as the primary operator of nonstop flights between India and the USA. The airline currently flies nonstop to New York JFK, Newark, San Francisco, and Chicago. However, flights between Washington and India will be suspended starting September 1. Air India has also reduced frequencies on some USA-India routes, while recent airspace restrictions have extended travel times on others. A JFK-Delhi nonstop still takes about 15 hours 30 minutes, but one-stop options can stretch the journey to nearly 20 hours 15 minutes.

*Qatar Airways and Air India operate A350s on select routes, but aircraft type is subject to change as per airline policy.

Best Airfare Between USA and India

Air India is often the more affordable choice for business class travelers. For example, a one-way Air India business class ticket from JFK to DEL on October 8 costs about $3,772 on IndianEagle.com.
