After 2025, a turbulent year in aviation, Air India is back on its transformation journey. Alongside the ongoing retrofitting of its existing Dreamliner fleet, the airline unveiled its first Maharaja Lounge at Indira Gandhi Airport. After a few years of large-scale renovation, the flagship lounge opened to take the world aback and silence its critics. Air India’s New Delhi airport lounge is a signature statement on contemporary luxury and Indian hospitality.

Spread over 16,000 square feet, the lounge is spacious enough to host around 300 guests at a time. The interiors meticulously blend world-class luxury and traditional Indian designs. The lounge is divided into two distinct zones for premium guests of Air India flights: Expansive ‘Business’ section, and Exclusive ‘First Class’ section. The Business section has enhanced seating, elevated dining, and cozy workspace, whereas the First Class section offers more private facilities like sleep suites.

Location of Maharaja Lounge at Delhi Airport

Air India reopened Maharaja Lounge in the departure area of Terminal 3, New Delhi Airport. It is situated airside on the mezzanine level, after immigration and security checks, making it accessible only to international passengers cleared for boarding. It is easy to locate the lounge above the duty-free zone, following clear signage throughout Terminal 3.

Inside Air India’s Delhi Airport Maharaja Lounge: Exclusive Features

The Aviator’s Bar: The bar will offer an exclusive selection of wines and whiskies curated for the discerning traveler. Its interior draws inspiration from the historic 1932 Karachi to Bombay flight by Mr. JRD Tata, the pioneer of civil aviation in India. The ceiling is designed as the propeller of the first Puss Moth aircraft, celebrating Air India’s aviation legacy.

The Globetrotter’s Study: This is a serene cozy corner with a hand-picked collection of fiction and nonfiction titles for avid readers and working professionals. Besides, adequate power outlets and high-speed Internet connectivity make the Globetrotter’s Study an ideal place for peaceful reading or working.

Serenity Area: Air India’s Delhi Airport lounge has an enclosed area with individual recliners where guests can relax, rest, and rejuvenate before catching long-haul international flights to New York, London, Toronto, and other prime destinations. It has meditative ambience to calm the body and the mind.

Tarmac View Seating: Watching aircraft take-off and landings while sipping from a fine glass of wine or dining in an exquisite setting is a sheer luxury for frequent flyers and aviation enthusiasts. With that interest in mind, Air India got the seating and dining areas designed in the ‘First Class’ section overlooking the tarmac.

Sleep Suites: First Class guests are in for maharaja-like treatment in exclusive sleep suites with cushioned beds and ambient lights at the flagship Air India lounge at New Delhi Airport. After restorative sleep for a couple of hours, guests can wake up energized for international flights to USA from New Delhi.

Aircraft shortage has been a major setback to Air India’s expansion plans, revival goals, transformation journey, and revenues since late Ratan Tata bought back the airline with its outdated fleet. Making the derelict, debt-ridden airline take off to great heights in full glory again proved to be more than a monumental task over time. Despite a multibillion-dollar order placed in February 2023 for a new wide-body fleet, global supply chain issues and geo-political tensions continued to delay new aircraft delivery, as well as retrofitting of the existing aircraft.

As they say every dark cloud has a silver lining, Air India welcomed 2026 with a brand-new B787-9 Dreamliner having arrived to New Delhi from Seattle on 11 January. The first Dreamliner, in the series of 20 Boeing 787-9s, will be inducted into long-haul passenger service in February, and 2026 will see a total of 6 new widebody deliveries including two A350-1000s, according to a media briefing from the Tata Group.

“The induction of an advanced Boeing aircraft into Air India’s fleet is like the dawn of a new beginning. The brand-new B787-9 is not just the first line-fit Dreamliner, it is a new hope for Air India to reclaim its dominance in the nonstop flights service corridor, like from USA to India. Inarguably, aircraft shortage is the principal reason for continued suspension of Air India flights to Washington Dulles IAD since 01 September 2025,” said Sourav Agarwal, Senior Editor at IndianEagle.com.

In addition to a Boeing 787-9, Air India took phased delivery of six widebody A350-900s as part of its historic Airbus order including 34 A350-1000s. The safest and best aircraft in Air India’s long-haul fleet, A350-900s have stabilized operations for nonstop flights from New Delhi to New York JFK, Newark EWR, and London Heathrow. Air India’s A350 flights with Premium Economy seats, best-in-class amenities, superlative inflight service, and choicest food have earned rave reviews from passengers traveling between New York and New Delhi.

B777-200LRs leased from Delta Airlines and B777-300ERs leased from Etihad could not survive the pitfalls of Pakistan’s airspace closure, such as rerouting of long-haul flights, refueling stops in Europe, longer travel time, stretched crew duty hours, additional fuel intake, and increased operational overheads. That’s why Air India decided to operate two key routes – San Francisco to Mumbai and Bengaluru – with short layovers in the US and/or India, starting in March this year.

“Air India cancelling San Francisco to Mumbai and Bengaluru flights starting March 2026, is in the news today. Travelers hit the panic button over their bookings for travel to India in 2026. We are experiencing an influx of queries, like when Air India would resume these routes, when they would be able to book these routes for their parents’ convenient travel on Air India,” said Dheeraj Dhuvvuru, CEO of IndianEagle.com.

The Air India news trending online is not true. In fact, Air India will continue to operate from SFO to Bengaluru and Mumbai through 2026, but flights are no longer nonstop or point to point. In fact, Air India flights from SFO to Mumbai and Bengaluru stopped being nonstop when Pakistan closed its airspace for Indian airlines in April 2025. For the past 9 months, Air India has been making route adjustments to bypass the restricted airspace and rerouting these flights with short fueling stops in Vienna or Kolkata (CCU).

Air India flights to and from San Francisco in 2026

San Francisco to Mumbai has one-stop or two-stop operations in Air India’s 2026 schedule. In some itineraries, Alaska Airlines being an interline partner will connect to Air India flights from New York JFK to Mumbai. In some itineraries, Air India will operate this long-haul route via Kolkata and Delhi as short layovers (1 to 2 hours each). The flight from SFO to Kolkata, and from Kolkata to DEL Airport is the same, AI 174 (B777-300ER). It means no aircraft change, no deboarding at CCU Airport. The leg from New Delhi to Mumbai (final destination) involves aircraft change.

Air India flights from SFO to Bengaluru will continue to have two pitstops – Kolkata and Delhi – in 2026.  But AI flights, BLR to SFO, are one-stop itineraries via New Delhi Airport. To be precise, nonstop travel from San Francisco to Mumbai and Bengaluru is a thing of the past. Domestic layovers are common in Air India’s international operations.

With Mumbai or Bengaluru being your final destination, Air India will be flying through New Delhi, one of the two domestic pitstops for flights originating in San Francisco. There is not only aircraft change but also terminal change at Delhi IGI Airport. You need to transfer from Terminal 3 to T2 at DEL Airport for domestic connection to Mumbai or Bengaluru.

Are Air India flights from SFO to Delhi nonstop?

Since Air India is rerouting flights from San Francisco over Mongolian airspace between Russia and China, it has changed the course of SFO-DEL itineraries, which include a short refueling stop in Kolkata. There is no deboarding of passengers for aircraft or terminal change at Kolkata Airport during a layover of up to 1.5 hours.

Luckily, most of Air India flights from New Delhi to San Francisco are nonstop, and total travel time is 17 hours. B777-200LRs from Air India’s fleet will operate this route with fuel efficiency, spacious cabins, flat-bed seating (in Business Class), and other modern features.

Alternate options to Air India for SFO to India travel

Though the flying time from SFO to Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Delhi has increased by 8 to 10 hours due to domestic pitstops, many Indians still prefer Air India over other airlines due to no international transit. If you’re looking for alternate options to Air India flights from SFO to India, you can check out Indian Eagle deals from other airlines or call +1800-615-3969 for phone-only budget deals. What’s in new menu for Air India flights from USA to India?

You should ask what’s not there in the new inflight menu designed by Chef Sandeep Kalra. With signature dishes from Delhi’s street food, Lucknow’s Awadhi cuisine, South India’s breakfast platter, and north Indian households, Air India’s new menu mirrors the diverse culinary fabric of India.

While the South Indian platter is common to all routes and all travel classes, passengers are treated to traditional stuffed paratha, fruit yogurt, kale spinach kiwi smoothie, and Turkish eggs in breakfast on business class flights from New Delhi to USA and other countries. The new menu features smoked chicken avocado salad, Murgh Mussallam, Awadhi Paneer Anjeer Pasand, Masala Dal Khichdi, and Shahi Moong Dal Halwa in the main course for business class flyers on all nonstop Air India flights from India to USA, Canada, Dubai, London, and Australia.

Regardless of Air India fare types – Value and Classic, economy class flyers can savour home-style Indian comfort food in both veg and non-veg segments of the new menu. Kadhai Chicken, Jeera Pulao, Amritsari Dal, Rajasthani Kadhi Pakodi, Jeera Rice, and Gobi Mutter ki Sabji will give you a fulfilling sense of warmth and cosiness aboard Air India flights from Mumbai to San Francisco, New York, London, Sydney, and Singapore. You can choose to have South Indian breakfast or a north Indian platter of poori and kale chane rasedar with sooji halwa in Economy Class and Premium Economy.

Who is Chef Sandeep Kalra, the maker of Air India’s new menu?

After having worked with Bollywood’s favourite designer Manish Malhotra for the cabin crew’s brand new look, Air India roped in Sandeep Kalra as corporate chef to elevate inflight dining experience. Chef Sandeep Kalra, Director of Culinary at Accor, has added several feathers in his cap over two decades of culinary innovation while holding high-profile positions, from The Ritz-Carlton to Hotel Trident. Known for creating magic for diverse palates, Chef Kalra’s ‘new Air India menu’ for overseas Indians and foreign citizens of Indian origin is reflective of their love for homemade food, their nostalgia for childhood days’ street food, their sweet tooth for traditional Indian desserts, and their cravings for international fares.

Air India is now offering 18 special meal types

Air India has also started offering 18 special meal types, including vegan, on select international routes, with other routes to have the same in phases. With Air India adding a vegan meal to inflight dining, Emirates Airlines is no longer the only carrier to serve vegan food on board. “Wrong terminal” is one of the reasons for travelers to miss their flights, domestic or international. The right terminal information, among others, helps avoid missing flights especially during short connections. If you are scheduled to fly with Air India to or from New Delhi Airport on or after 26 October 2025, you need to be aware of the right terminal for hassle-free domestic to international and international to domestic connections.

At New Delhi IGI Airport, Terminal 2 is reopening on 26 October after months of renovation, and Terminal 3 is scheduled to undergo expansion for enhanced international traffic capacity. Accordingly, Air India is reshuffling its domestic operations between T3, T2, and T1. On 26 October, Air India is shifting 60 of its domestic flights from Terminal 3 to Terminal 2, and its subsidiary – Air India Express will be having all its domestic operations from Terminal 1. This means travelers flying into or out of New Delhi must have the right terminal information.

How to Check Delhi Airport Terminal for Air India Flights

For passengers of Air India flights to New Delhi from USA or other countries with domestic connections, here is a simple 4-digit trick to identify the right terminal for their connecting domestic flights. If the domestic flight number in your itinerary is a 4-digit number starting with “1” (for example, AI12340), it means you must transit to T2 from T3 for the domestic connection. Air India’s domestic flights that still have three digits (like AI302) will continue to operate from the international Terminal 3. If the domestic flight number begins with XI, you need to transfer to Terminal 1 after international arrival.

“If the domestic to international connection for your outbound flight requires you to transfer from T1 to T3 at Delhi Airport, you need to select from Air India itineraries with significant transit time given the distance between T1 and T3 (around 8 km). Hence, checking the Air India flight number (4-digit or 3 digit) for the domestic leg in itineraries is recommended for your convenience,” said the chief ticketing officer of IndianEagle.com, the most trusted source of cheap airline tickets to India.

How to Transfer between Terminals at Delhi IGI Airport

When your international flight lands at T3, you go through arrival formalities including immigration, checked baggage claim, and customs clearance. Once you are done, you head to the terminal for your connecting domestic flight, irrespective of airline.

T3 to T2: At Delhi Airport, T3 to T2 distance is not more than 500 meters. You can either walk (about 10–15 minutes) or take the free shuttle bus that runs every 10 minutes. The shuttle is well-marked and easy to find near the arrival area.

T3 to T1: T1 is farther from T3 at DEL Airport and cannot be reached on foot. You can use the free inter-terminal shuttle service that operates around the clock between T1, T2, and T3. Alternatively, prepaid taxis or app-based cabs are available outside Terminal 3 if you prefer a direct ride.

Air India automatically transfers checked bags from Terminal 3 to T2 and T1 without requiring you to claim and recheck in your bags, If the entire itinerary has a single PNR. If the international leg and the domestic leg in the itinerary have different PNRs, you need to collect your checked bags at T3 and recheck in at T2 or T1.

Helpful Facilities at Delhi Airport for Transit Passengers

Delhi International Airport provides dedicated assistance desks at all terminals to help passengers with transfers. Look for counters of connecting Air India Flights customs clearance at T3. The ground staff can confirm your domestic terminal, guide you to the shuttle area, and help if your next flight departs soon. There is also buggy service for passengers with mobility needs, luggage trolleys, and free Wi-Fi in all terminals. There are food courts, rest areas, and lounges if you have a long layover. Navigating Delhi Airport during terminal transfer is easy once you know where to go. The airport staff are helpful when it comes to guiding transit passengers.

Air India, one of the best international airlines for USA to India travel, offers three economy fare types – Value, Classic, and Flex with a varying degree of affordability, flexibility and ease for travel date changes. Designed for customers with different needs, the Value Economy and the Classic Economy fares provide more or less the same travel experience on ground and on board. There is no difference in terms of inflight meals, services, entertainment, and cabin baggage allowance.

Air India Economy fare types, Air India Value Economy fare, Air India Economy Classic fare, best Air India fare deals, Value vs Classic fares

What are Air India VALUE and CLASSIC fares in Economy?

Air India Economy VALUE fares are the best deals for those who travel light and have fixed travel dates. On the surface, the VALUE fare is more affordable than the Classic fare, whereas the CLASSIC fare comes with better flexibility and higher checked baggage allowance (detailed below). Air India CLASSIC Economy fare deals entitle you to check in two bags (23kg each) for free, while the VALUE Fare allows only one piece of free checked baggage.

VALUE vs CLASSIC: Best Air India Economy Fares

VALUE is the lowest Air India economy fare with some cons, like high penalties for itinerary modification. Once the free 24-hour void window (from the time your flight booking is confirmed) expires, any modification in the reservation – rescheduling or passengers’ name correction – incurs a fixed penalty of $325 per traveler.

In contrast to Air India VALUE Economy fares, the CLASSIC fare comes with pros, like lower modification penalties. You can reschedule your one-way travel or round trip to India for a $216 fee per person, prior to 3 days of the scheduled departure. Thereafter, the penalty rises to $325.

If you reschedule the travel dates in a confirm booking for four travelers, you can save ($325-$216) $109×4 = a whopping $436 on modification penalties. It is wise to choose a CLASSIC fare for Air India flight tickets in Economy anticipating a change of travel dates, given travel disruptions are common amid unpredictable visa and immigration regulations these days.

VALUE vs CLASSIC: Air India Checked Baggage Allowance

The difference between the Air India Economy fare types – VALUE and CLASSIC – is $60-$90 depending on travel season, route, and other factors. A VALUE deal may be attractive but not economical in certain scenarios. Below is a comparative analysis on which fare type is more economical for economy class flyers.

Given Air India’s extra checked baggage charges for international travel, you can save a lot with the CLASSIC fare rather than the VALUE fare in Economy. VALUE being the lowest economy fare, you can check in only one bag (max 23kg) for free. If you need to pack and check in a second bag of up to 23kg, you will have to pay approximately $240 in addition – which is three times more than what you save on the VLAUE fare.

In contrast, Air India’s Economy CLASSIC fare perks include two pieces of free checked baggage allowance (max 23kg each) per adult traveler. You can pack in many food items and other things especially for your travel from India to USA without worrying about additional check-in baggage fees.

To the dismay of many travelers, Air India announced suspension of its services between Washington DC and New Delhi for an infinite period starting September 1, 2025. The temporary removal of Washington DC from the nonstop US-India travel corridor not only affects confirmed Air India bookings for winter 2025 travel but also summer 2026 travel plans for this route. It marks a significant change for travelers who rely on nonstop Air India flights with short travel times between the capital cities of USA and India.

Air India news, US-India travel news, Air India flights to Washington DC IAD, Air India IAD - DEL service suspension

Why is Air India suspending direct service to and from Washington DC?

Air India suspends Washington DC to India direct flights amid aircraft shortage, operational challenges, and strategic adjustments. 26 B787-8 Dreamliners in the Air India fleet have been withdrawn from long-haul service like IAD-DEL, as extensive retrofitting of the aircraft and its outdated travel cabins has begun after a long delay from the actual schedule. Expected to run through 2026, Air India’s aircraft retrofit project is aimed at elevating inflight experience for travelers.

Currently, A350-900 is the only newest, safest and best aircraft in Air India fleet. Some loyalists of Air India remarked that temporary suspension of Delhi-Washington DC flights is a blessing in disguise, since the B787-8 aircraft retrofit is a pressing need of the hour given various operational challenges and poor inflight amenities.

Adding to the B787-8 aircraft issues is the continued closure of Pakistan’s airspace, which forces Air India to reroute some flights between USA and India via Europe and Mongolia. The duration of a trip has stretched from 15 hours to 20 hours or more due to detours and additional fuel stops, thereby increasing the operational costs.

Alternate travel options for cancelled Air India flights between Washington DC and India after 1 September 2025?

Air India is offering alternate travel options or refunds to travelers with flight bookings to or from Dulles IAD Airport for 1 September onwards. The airline will contact them soon. If you booked your travel between Washington DC and India through IndianEagle.com, you can call our customer helpline +1800-615-3969 (from the US).

Alternate travel arrangements include flying to/from Washington, DC through Air India’s other four gateways – New York JFK, Newark EWR, Chicago ORD, and San Francisco. You can opt for rebooking Air India flights with domestic connection to/from Washington Dulles Airport, and the domestic connection will be operated by Alaska Airlines, United Airlines, and/or Delta Airlines among Air India’s interline partners in the US. Your check-in bags will be checked through to the final destination.

Alternate airline flights between Washington DC and India for winter 2025 and summer 2026 travel

No other airlines, except Air India, provide nonstop travel from Dulles IAD to India. Obviously, temporary suspension of Air India services between DC IAD and New Delhi IGI, effective 1 September 2025, is disheartening news for many Indians, especially unaccompanied senior citizens who prefer international travel without connection in a third country.

However, Indian Eagle, the most trusted air-ticketing partner for Indians in USA, will get you best one-stop flights from Washington Dulles to India with Emirates, Etihad, Qatar Airways, British Airways, Lufthansa, Swiss Air, Ethiopian Airlines, and Air Canada. You can explore Indian Eagle flight deals online or call +1800-615-3969 for Indian Eagle’s phone-only budget deals for winter 2025 or summer 2026 travel.

Check out our $1000 flight discount giveaway offer and stand a chance to save BIG on flight tickets for your next travel to India.

Aircraft and hospitality (both on ground and on board) are major drivers for Air India’s growth and transformation in the coming days. While the long-running global supply chain issues are delaying new aircraft delivery to the airline, several other issues have slowed down refurbishment of the existing Air India lounges and construction of new ones, including the flagship Maharaja lounge at San Francisco International Airport. However, something is better than nothing. The second Air India lounge in USA is under construction at SFO Airport, according to several reports.

Why SFO Airport for Air India Maharaja Lounge?

Needless to say, San Francisco is one of the primary Air India gateways in USA for nonstop flights to India. In the west coast US, Air India operates nonstop flights from SFO Airport to New Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. SFO-DEL service has daily frequency, whereas the SFO-BOM frequency will be 3x weekly and the SFO-BLR flight frequency will be 4x weekly starting in September 2025. High travel demand on these routes drives the boking of Air India flight tickets like hot cakes.

The upcoming Air India lounge in San Francisco (SFO) would be a dedicated, upscale space with maharaja-like service to premium travelers, as envisioned by the Tata Group.

Location of Air India Lounge at SFO Airport

At San Francisco Int. Airport, the AI Maharaja Lounge is coming up on the fourth floor of the international terminal where the Golden Gate Lounge and the lounge of China Airlines are located. Some travelers taking flights from San Francisco to India noticed a signage outside the construction spot for Air India’s much-awaited lounge facility at SFO.

Currently, Air India’s Maharaja Club members and premium passengers can access United Lounge at SFO Airport to unwind before their departure to India or during a domestic connection after arrival.

When will the new Air India lounge open in San Francisco?

Air India has not yet officially announced any timeline for the under-construction Maharaja lounge at San Francisco Airport. It is highly anticipated that the airline’s third flagship lounge (next to the Maharaja Lounge at New Delhi and NY JFK airports) may open to public in 2026, as a significant milestone in Air India’s transformation journey – Vihaan.AI.

After the tragic Ahmedabad plane crash in June, netizens are googling – what is the best and safest aircraft in the fleet of Air India? The Tata airline placed multibillion-dollar orders for 570 new aircraft from both Airbus and Boeing. Only six brand-new A350-900 planes have joined the fleet so far, while the first B787-9 from the Boeing order will be delivered soon. Since December 2024, Air India has been operating A350-900 flights without complaints. Our customers’ reviews on Air India’s A350 travel experience adjudge this aircraft as the best and safest in the fleet.

A350-900: Best and Safest Aircraft in Air India Fleet

Currently, A350-900 is not just the newest but also the best and safest aircraft in Air India fleet for long-haul flights, to say between USA and India. Few aircraft can rival Airbus A350, a most advanced, widebody jet which is even bigger than Boeing 787 Dreamliner. A350-1000 is longer than the latest Dreamliner variant, B787-10. At present, six A350-900s are operational for Air India flights from New Delhi to New York JFK, Newark EWR, and London Heathrow.

Not only Air India, but also its partners and rivals are cashing in on either or both variants – A350-900 and A350-1000. Singapore Airlines and Qatar Airways are leading operators of A350 flights. Among top 10 airlines that fly from USA to India, Emirates received its first A350-900 in January 2025, with more 64 A350-900 planes to be delivered. 47 A350-900 and 1000s will be delivered to Lufthansa Group Airlines by 2031. Air India’s domestic rival IndiGo is expecting delivery of 40 Airbus A350 planes starting mid-2027 for its international expansion plans.

What makes A350 the best aircraft in Air India fleet

  • Lightweight Structure: Over 70% of its airframe is made from titanium, aluminum, and composite materials, making the aircraft lighter and stronger.
  • Fuel Efficiency: Uses up to 25% less fuel than older wide-body aircraft, reducing emissions and operating costs.
  • Sleek Aerodynamics: The 64.75 m wings with morphing technology improves lift and lowers drag during flight.
  • Engine: Equipped with Rolls-Royce Trent XWB, the most efficient large aero-engine today, delivering high reliability, modular maintenance, and fuel savings.
  • Airspace Cabin: Features the quietest twin-aisle cabin in its class, wide seats, larger windows, straight sidewalls, high ceilings, and spacious overhead bins for enhanced comfort.
  • Optimized Cabin Environment: Maintains a comfortable cabin altitude of 6,000 feet with air renewed every 2–3 minutes through HEPA filtering.
  • Advanced Lighting: Full LED ambient lighting supports customized lighting scenarios (e.g., sunrise/sunset), which help reduce passenger fatigue and jet lag.
  • Connectivity & Entertainment: A350 was the first aircraft delivered with in-flight connectivity, offering high-speed satellite Wi-Fi, plus high-definition IFE, with screens up to 13″ in economy—on entry into service.

Air India A350 Economy Class

The A350-900 has improved the way Indians from the US used to travel in Air India’s Economy cabins until December 2023. The aircraft ticks all the boxes for your elevated comfort on Air India’s economy class flights to Delhi from New York, Newark, and London. The A350-900 economy cabins feature 264 cushioned seats in a 3-3-3- configuration, each offering 31-inch pitch, 17.5-inch width, 6-inch recline, and adjustable headrests for added support during long journeys.

Air India’s A350 economy class has seats equipped with a 12-inch HD touchscreen featuring the Panasonic eX3 entertainment system, loaded with over 2,200 hours of content. The airline provides screen-free audio content for kids on A350 flights. It has increased the comfort quotient for economy class passengers seeking Indian Eagle flight deals.

Air India A350 Premium Economy

Air India’s Premium Economy cabins on A350-900 planes offer a value-for-money experience. If sophistication of flying, comfort at 40,000 feet, and budget flight deals are your priority, the A350 Premium Economy is the best bet for your intercontinental travel. It has 24 super cozy seats with 38-inch pitch, 18.5-inch width, 8-inch recline, and four-way adjustable headrests for customized comfort. Arranged in a 2-4-2 layout, the seats have comfortable leg rest with a foot paddle.

The above is why Air India’s A350 Premium Economy is a preferred choice for elderly parents’ travel from India to USA for much less than business class tickets. The seats come with a 13.3-inch HD touchscreen, USB-A charging, universal power outlets, and personal reading lights. Priority check-in and early boarding are among the perks, in addition to TUMI amenity kits and upgraded dining on premium tableware.

Flying in Air India’s Business class on A350-900 gives a glimpse into the airline’s ongoing transformation. It has 28 suites in a 1-2-1 configuration offering direct aisle access to all passengers. Each suite has a convertible 79-inch full-flat bed built on the Collins Aerospace Horizon platform.

The perks of booking business class flights on Air India’s A350-900 include gourmet meals served on bespoke Ferragamo-designed tableware, a 21-inch HD Panasonic eX3 screen with noise-cancelling headphones, and an in-cabin humidifier. Ananya had dreamed of this moment for years – her parents’ first visit to her in the US. She moved to Boston in 2019 for an MS degree. She is now working as a senior Data Analyst in New York. It took her years to plan their first trip to America, as she wanted them to travel in comfort on the flight where they won’t have to squeeze into tight seats. Recently, her parents traveled in Air India’s brand new Premium Economy from Kolkata to New York.

Flying in Premium Economy is no luxury. Rather, it is a matter of comfort for those who always made compromises and endured discomforts to save for their daughter’s education. Like most middle-class parents, they always preferred buses and auto-rickshaws over cabs while putting Ananya’s needs ahead of their own. Their day-to-day struggle did not go unnoticed by her. Hence, she had eagerly been waiting for the day she would be able to book premium economy flight tickets.

Ananya’s dream came true at Indian Eagle

With Indian Eagle deals for Air India flights to USA, her dream came true. Premium Economy offers a greater deal of comfort than Economy but costs lesser than Business Class. This significant upgrade comes with cozy seating, extra legroom, priority boarding, and personal attention to travelers’ inflight needs. For her parents, it was more than a travel experience, it was a matter of pride for them.

When Ananya called Indian Eagle customer support helpline, she was very clear about what she was looking for – the best flight deal. I recall her words, “I just don’t want my parents to arrive exhausted or stressed. I wish their first international flight to be full of joy, not fatigue,” said the chief ticketing officer of Indian Eagle Travel. We offered her the most unbeatable fare deal from Air India, one of our airline partners, for a nonstop flight from New Delhi to New York including a domestic connection from Kolkata.

Why Air India for Premium Economy Travel

One of her colleagues in the US referred Indian Eagle to her as a reliable travel partner for parents’ solo international travel. Our ticketing team goes the extra mile when it comes to booking international flight tickets for parents and family travelers. For Ananya’s parents, we recommended Air India not only for unmatched fares, but also nonstop travel, short flying time, brand-new A350 aircraft, premium economy comfort, etc.

Flying in the Premium Economy was their first such premium travel experience, from priority check-in at Delhi International Airport to smooth onboarding to the A350-900 plane, cushioned seating with extra legroom, business-class-like inflight dining, personalized service to their individual needs – all these made their first international trip nothing short of a dream as Ananya shared with us later.

Air India’s A350-900s, one of the most advanced widebody Airbus planes in the fleet of major airlines, have earned rave reviews for elevating passenger experience in terms of comfort, luxury, and inflight service. Indian Eagle best deals for Air India flights in all travel classes on A350s between New York to Delhi, and Newark to Delhi are available both on the website and on calls to +1800-615-3969.

Ananya further shared with us that her father, a retired schoolteacher, has kept the boarding passes safe as a cherished memento of her love for them. When they landed at JFK Airport in New York, she welcomed them with tears in her eyes. Precisely, this was the moment that she waited for long because, sometimes, a flight is not just a flight – it’s a way to say “Thank You”.
