United Airlines Plans a $2 Billion Terminal B Transformation at Houston Airport

Airports around the world keep upgrading the facilities and terminals to elevate passenger experiences. In July this year, American Airlines announced to spend $125 million in a redevelopment plan for terminal 8 at JFK Airport. And now, United Airlines plans to spend a whopping $2 billion for terminal B transformation at Houston Airport (IAH). A record largest United Club will also be unveiled as part of this IAH airport renovation. 

40 Gates to Be Added at Terminal B in George Bush Intercontinental Airport

As part of the Terminal B transformation at Houston Airport, United Airlines along with Houston Airport System will add 40 gates. With the increase in travel demand, IAH airport is expected to see further increase in passenger traffic. The additional gates at terminal B in Houston Airport will likely help in serving up to 36 million travelers annually. 400+ United Airlines flights to Asia, Europe and South America are operated from the George Bush Intercontinental Airport daily. 

A ground level check-in area and an enhanced signage will also feature in the expanded ticketing lobby. The third floor of terminal B at Houston airport will also include an world-class security checkpoint that will have enhanced facilities. Interestingly, the terminal B transformation at Houston Airport is not just limited to the building. Roads and curbs surrounding it will also be further expanded.
