What exactly is the ideal work-from-home situation? A well-lit room with some indoor plants? A comfortable corner cozy enough for both work and mini-breaks? A room with a view of the hills or the beach? Or perhaps the beach itself.

Work from beach is what corporate dreams are made of or is it simply a far-fetched scenario possible for just wealthy CEOs. Well, kudos to the former and more. Work from beach is easily possible especially those willing to do so in India.

If you want to work from beach – Goa is the place to be in India. The reason: the government itself is initiating projects for the same.

Work from Beach – Goa

The initial phase of the plan consists of developing one beach in south Goa (Benaulim Beach) and two beaches in north Goa (Miramar and Morjim) for ‘Workation in Goa’ (as the popular term goes). The authorities will set up co-working spaces on these beaches complete with showers (what if you decided to go swimming in the ocean during your break!). Since millions of people are now working remotely; the state government wants to make Goa the hub for the same.

The Goan government has recognized the fact that IT capabilities in the state need to be more robust for ‘work from beach’ to be a successful initiative. Currently; the IT infrastructure in the state is not always optimal for system requirements of remote workers. The state government is, thus, planning to collaborate with TASK – the Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge on the same. It plans to sign Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with TASK after the plan is all set.

Those who desire a more rustic setup for remote work will also have plenty of work from beach options in Goa. The government is planning to build plug-and-play shacks complete with Wi-Fi and other amenities. The proposed places for these shacks include beaches Baga and Calungute in the north and Colva, Benaulim, and Baina in the south.

Perhaps now you can’t wait to inquire about work from beach packages in Goa. But you will have to be a little patient for these ‘sun and sand’ workspaces to come up as planned. Although you can still work remotely in the state as there are plenty of good homestays in both north and south Goa with a full range of facilities. You can try work-from-Goa for a month, see what suits you and then switch it up easily. Best place to work in goa is any good beach and any good resort or homestay on that beach. Budget workation in Goa is also a possibility.

Before heading to Goa for your ‘workation’; ensure your work visa requirements are in place (for international visitors). For Indian nationals; the minimum requirement is to simply pack your laptops and head to your new office by the Arabian Sea.

If you search for remote work trends 2022 then work from beach may just about top the list and India is ideal for it.

Places to Work from Beach – India

  • Major beaches in Goa
  • Kochi, Varkala, and Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala
  • Gokarna in Karnataka
  • Chennai in Tamil Nadu
  • Vizag in Andhra Pradesh

Work from home in India doesn’t need to be boring or monotonous. Remote working offers opportunities to explore places and spaces not ‘remotely’ possible with on-site job situations. Why not take flights to India and enjoy the Goan hospitality amidst Zoom meetings, hurriedly finishing up that last part of the report, or just about anything else. Whether you enjoy your work or not; doing so it in Goa can definitely act as the balm for the frayed souls.

You can book best-priced flights to Goa from USA via Indian Eagle any time.

Goa’s tourist footfall reduces during the monsoon. But with the new initiative by the Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC), this might soon change or at least improve the numbers.

As per Goa state government’s recent announcement about introducing “Monsoon Trekking” program to enhance hinterland tourism in the region, you can expect different types of tours to open up in Goa

In theory, this program is definitely going to work, because Goa is one of the most popular tourist destinations in India. Over 80 lakhs  tourists who visit this place annually mostly come to relax on the beaches and enjoy the sun beside the sea. Introducing hinterland tourism at this point becomes crucial, as it is something new for the visitors and shows them more about Goa’s culture and other attractions. Also, beaches are found everywhere, but in the hinterland, there is always something new to discover and explore, even something unique to Goa.

It is expected that this Monsoon Trekking program will increase Goa’s revenue and improve its economy as a whole. Since it will have new requirements–such as tour guides and trekking experts–it will also generate employment for the local residents.

Planning a trip to India? Book your tickets to Goa now and get them at the most affordable prices!

Goa is one of the most visited states in India. It is full of tourists all round the year but as the holiday season approaches, the crowd here increases. It is renowned for its vibrant beaches, fun nightlife and wild parties. The state has some exceptional varieties of food and drinks that will leave you wanting for more. When a trip to Goa is finally on cards, you can pick the places you would like to visit based on your choice. The North Goa VS South Goa debate starts here. If you are an extrovert and love the energetic vibes it has to offer, go to the northern part. For an introverted soul who likes to seek solace and enjoy the calm amidst the serenity, the southern part of Goa is the perfect option.

North Goa VS South Goa
Source: Travel Diary

Here is what North Goa and South Goa offer to its visitors.

Eateries in North and South Goa

There are a lot of places in Goa that offer a wide range of delicacies and you can choose dishes based on your liking. But there is a little difference between the eateries in North Goa and South Goa.

If you love to eat dishes from multiple cuisines or fusion food items, then North Goa is the place you must visit. It offers mouth-watering pizzas, pastas, noodles, manchuria, paranthas, and various Greek dishes. It is also renowned for its beach shacks that serve a mixture of Goan cuisine, seafood and other fusion dishes. While the serene South Goa is famous for its authentic Portuguese and Goan dishes. Apart from beach shacks, it has small bakeries that sell snacks and meals.

Therefore, if you want a lot of options and explore international cuisine then North Goa is where you should go but if you are in search of some scrumptious local dishes, you must head to South Goa.

Temporary Abodes in North Goa and South Goa

North Goa and South Goa both have a lot of good hotels that are affordable too. But according to many as there are more tourists visiting the northern part, the prices in hotels are a little higher due to the increase in demand. So, if you are on a budget, South Goa is your safe bet.

These months are the peak season so there are a number of activities and shacks running at this coastal beauty.

Things to do in Goa with Family

Marvel at the Beauty of Dudhsagar Falls

The Dudhsagar waterfall is one of the tallest in Goa falling from a height of 1017 feet. Due to the heavy force of this cascading waterfall, the water looks white giving it the name Dudhsagar which translates to Milk Lake. Pack your essentials and take the family on an adventure as you trek your way to this mesmerizing place.

Although the trek isn’t the easiest, the stunning views are a treat for the eyes. You and your family are sure to have an amazing time. Remember to book a tour of the falls from the official website to ensure you get the right kind of help.

Visit the Immaculate Butterfly Beach

This is one of the off-beat locations in Goa as the beach is secluded and away from the hordes of tourists. It’s an adventure land with thrilling rock climbing activities that you and your family can partake. If you are looking to just relax, this beach provides quiet spots where you can have a picnic and marvel at the sea.

The beach is called Butterfly Beach for obvious reasons as it houses a vast variety of butterflies. It is also known for dolphin sighting, so take a mat and spend an evening at this immaculate beach to see all it has to offer.

Trek to the Top of Chapora Fort

Perched on a hill a few hundred meters away from Vagator Beach is the Chapora Fort that overlooks the Chapora River. It’s a short climb to the top but once you reach you can’t help but be in awe of the beauty laid in front of you. This is one of the best things to do in Goa with family as you get to see jaw dropping views of the Arabian Sea.

Pick an evening to climb up to this fort and witness the sun beautifully melting into the water. The fort was once used as a military base by a number of rulers, the last being the Portuguese. History buffs from all over the world rush to this fort to see what little remains of the past. This is a good place to teach your children about how rulers ruled and why wars were fought.

Touch the Skies on a Hot Air Balloon Ride

In South Goa, there is a football ground called Assolda which is the launch site for hot air balloons. You are taken up 900 feet to get a panoramic view of Goa and its pristine beaches. The ride lasts an hour as you glide through the skies and come close to what a bird sees on a regular basis. The hot air balloon ride is completely safe and a ground crew follows the balloon to ensure it has a safe landing.

If you are looking for a place to stay, there are a number of beach resorts in South Goa that are luxurious and perfect for family vacations.

Learn to Farm at the Tanshikar Spice Farm

This Spice Farm is part of a rest house where you can stay with your family for a wholesome experience. Tanshikar Spice Farm and Ecological Rest House are set up in the middle of the Western Ghats rainforest at Netravali Village. Covering over 40 acres with 25 acres covered in spices, this farm is a nature filled experience.

The plantation is 100% organic without the use of pesticides and instead using ants to get rid of bacteria that could affect the crops. This group is dedicated to providing its guests with the most natural experience possible. There are tours where you can learn about spice farming and the best methods of cooking them. You and your family will have an incredible journey as you learn about nature’s endless wonders.
