After procuring India’s first Airbus A350 900 in December, the airline has started domestic operations with the advanced jet today, i.e, 22nd January. The inclusion of this jet in the Air India fleet signals the airline’s resurgence and commitment to excellence.

The Airbus A350-900 was also showcased at the Wings India 2024 in Hyderabad. It was a key attraction at the event and attracted aviation enthusiasts from across the country. Those in attendance shared glimpses of the aircraft interiors on social media, delighting the netizens.

When will India’s first Airbus A350 900 start international operations?

India’s first Airbus A350-900 is set to commence international operations by mid-2024. The aircraft will be used on international routes in an effort to improve the passenger experience for Air India. It is first being deployed on domestic routes for crew familiarization. With the launch of this A350, the airline is taking a big step toward upgrading its fleet. The A350 is a component of Air India’s larger strategy to compete in the long-haul travel market against top Gulf-based airlines.

The airline particularly plans to focus on increasing flights on the USA-India route. Air India is already a leading airline offering nonstop flights from USA to India and vice versa. Now with the A350s added to its fleet, the airline aims to further elevate passenger experience. When the Airbus A350 will be operational on the USA to India route, you can find the best airfare using the Indian Eagle flight deals and witness the sleek interiors of the Airbus A350-900 yourself.

A350 Cabin Configuration and Features

The Air India Airbus A350 900 is configured for business, premium economy, and economy classes. It boasts wider cabins, larger windows, mood lighting, and advanced entertainment systems. The A350 business class features private suites, each with direct aisle access, high-definition touchscreens, and amenity kits by Ferragamo.

Air India’s A350 premium economy offers a 2-4-2 configuration. It has adjustable headrests, leg rests, and amenity kits by Tumi. Economy class, in a 3-4-3 configuration, provides comfortable seating, recline, and 12-inch HD touchscreens. Ultra-long-haul flights in economy will include amenity kits for added comfort.

Refreshed In-Flight Experience on Air India Flights

The airline has introduced a range of new items, including bed linens, blankets, chinaware, glassware, and cutlery. These additions draw inspiration from Air India’s refreshed brand identity that was unveiled in August last year. The new amenity kits will be available for passengers traveling on international routes. The comprehensive rollout is scheduled to commence when the A350 initiates its international commercial flights, expected in mid-2024.

Air India also introduced a new in-flight entertainment (IFE) system on the A350. It will offer over 2,200 hours of content. Passengers on Air India flights can enjoy an extensive selection of movies, TV shows, and audio. The upgraded IFE system will likely be introduced across the wide-body Air India fleet

The Airbus A350 900 not only symbolizes a new chapter for Air India but serves as a catalyst for its future expansion. With a focus on innovation, passenger comfort, and a commitment to excellence, Air India aims to regain its status as a distinguished global airline.
