The United States is facing severe winter storms that are causing widespread destruction. Over 3,000 flights canceled, effectively stopping air traffic across the country. Large airports, notably in Texas, are experiencing difficulties.

Texas, a state usually not associated with harsh winters, is suddenly in the middle of this weather disruption. The Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and George Bush Intercontinental Airport are among those most seriously hit, with Denver, Chicago, and Washington also under the impact.

In Houston, the situation became serious when temperatures dropped below freezing. The Federal Aviation Administration was forced to implement a ground stop due to the freezing rain. This has resulted in major cancellations and delays for thousands of tourists.

Winter Storms Disrupt US Flights and Travel Plans

George Bush Intercontinental Airport had 267 flight cancellations and 200 delays, affecting more than half of its daily operations. William P. Hobby Airport, the major Southwest Airlines hub, is also experiencing major flight delays and cancellations.

Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, which serves as American Airlines’ home base, is likewise preparing for the storm’s effects. With 195 flights canceled and more than half of those delayed, the impact is felt across multiple locations. Dallas Love Field, another important hub for Southwest Airlines, is experiencing substantial cancellations and delays.

International Travel Delays

The impacts aren’t limited to Texas. Major cities such as New York City, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, and San Francisco are experiencing delays. The requirement for aircraft snow removal is a major contributor to these delays. It has caused flight delays at airports such as Denver International Airport by more than an hour. Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport is one of the most severely affected, with 61% of flights delayed.  Whether you are looking to reschedule a flight that was delayed or plan a last-minute journey to or from the United States, Indian Eagle flights stand out as an affordable option in this unpredictable weather situation.
