Qatar Airways has been in the news for all the good reasons. It was recently adjudged the best airline in the world 2024. Qatar Airways also became a leading carrier to offer Starlink inflight internet connectivity on select Boeing 777 aircraft. And now with a significant Qatar Airways Airbus A350 and Boeing 777 order in the pipeline, the airline is looking forward to expanding its fleet.

According to reports, Qatar Airways is nearing a substantial deal for a major widebody aircraft order. It will likely include around 200 jets that might be a mix of the new passenger favorite, the Airbus A350, and the iconic Boeing 777X. This showcases Qatar Airways’ commitment to expanding and renewing its fleet with the latest, most efficient aircraft available.

Qatar Airways Aims to Enhance Fuel Efficiency and Safety

Regular passengers flying with Indian Eagle travel are of the opinion that major airlines globally are racing to secure new, fuel-efficient widebody jets. This is in order to cut operating costs and meet the increasing demand for international travel. Qatar Airways’ decision to split its order between both Airbus and Boeing reflects a balanced approach to leverage the strengths of both manufacturers. The Qatar Airways Airbus A350 and 777X models are renowned for their advanced technology, fuel efficiency, and passenger comfort. This makes them ideal choices for the airline’s ambitious expansion.

The airline is focusing more on safety due to the rise of turbulence in flight incidents recently. Emirates is the first airline to combine the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) Turbulence Aware Platform with the newest version of Lido mPilot (the mobile navigation solution by Lufthansa Systems). Similarly, IndiGo, India’s largest airline, is currently testing software designed to detect turbulence that could impact aircraft during flight. However, Qatar Airways hasn’t announced similar plans for turbulence detection.

A potential order of this magnitude would significantly enhance the Qatar Airways fleet. It would also strengthen its position as a leading global carrier. The addition of Airbus A350 and Boeing 777 aircraft would enhance operational efficiency and passenger experience on domestic and international flights. The aviation industry is watching closely as this decision could also impact market dynamics.
