Cochin International Airport, also known as Nedumbassery Airport, is a main gateway to Kerala, India. It is located about 25 km northeast of Kochi’s busy city center. On December 12, 2018, the renovated terminal reopened to passengers, with a capacity of 4,000 people per hour, 5 times that of its previous capacity. This terminal, which has a built-up size of 55,742 square meters, has 56 check-in counters, 7 aerobridges, and a conveyor belt system that can handle baggage from 12 flights simultaneously.

Cochin International Airport Terminal 2: The Executive Terminal

The terminal 2 at Cochin International Airport is smaller compared to the other but is a more specialized terminal designed to handle executive and charter flights. Terminal 2 covers an area of 10,000 sqm and can handle up to 400 passengers at peak hours. There are 26 check-in counters in the terminal, including 4 self-check-in kiosks and 6 premium counters. There is a food court, family lounge, premium lounge for business class travelers, and a common waiting room available in the departure hall. In addition, Terminal 2 has four remote gates for domestic travelers and a restaurant in the entry lobby.

Despite being smaller than the other terminals, Terminal 2 provides a more premium experience for passengers who want a more individualized and private experience.

Cochin International Airport Terminal 3: The International Powerhouse

Terminal 3, which is entirely dedicated to managing international flights of Cochin International Airport COK. Terminal 3, which opened in March 2017, is a remarkable fusion of modern amenities and classic Keralan architecture. The famous Thrissur Pooram festival is the theme of architecture of the terminal, which welcomes visitors at the departure facilities area with 15 life-size fiber elephants dressed in traditional garb.

The 3rd largest airport terminal in India is Cochin International Airport Terminal 3, which covers an area of more than 150,000 square meters. There are four floors in the terminal, each with different uses. Arrivals are handled on the ground floor and the second floor, which have several moving walkways to facilitate passenger mobility, 10 e-T-Visa counters, 5 health check counters, and 30 immigration counters. The arrivals area at Cochin International Airport Terminal 3 features 10 customs counters, duty-free stores, and a large baggage claim area.

The third level is dedicated to departures, providing a vast check-in area with 84 counters, 40 emigration counters, and an 800-square-meter departure duty-free shop. The food court, restaurant, three airline executive lounges, smoking lounge, and resting room for travelers to unwind before their flights are all located in the security hold area, which is located on the fourth level.

Terminal 3 also boasts a solar carport facility that generates 2.7 MW of power and provides parking for 1,400 cars. Together with the solar carport at Terminal 1, Cochin International Airport has the largest solar carport in the world, generating a total of 5.1 MW of power and offering parking for 2,800 cars.
