Celebrating the International Nurses Day 2020, Qatar Airways came up with a unique idea to thank hundreds of thousands of the frontline healthcare professionals who have relentlessly been treating COVID19 patients all over the world, risking their own lives. With effect on May 12, the airline started offering 100,000 complimentary tickets to healthcare professionals in solidarity with them and in recognition of their unflinching commitment. 100,000 free tickets of Qatar Airways flights for healthcare professionals will be allocated till May 18 (midnight in Doha time).

Details of Qatar Airways’ Free Tickets for Healthcare Professionals

Healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, paramedics, clinical researchers, lab technicians, pharmacists and medical practitioners, can avail Qatar Airways’ giveaway flights, on a first come, first serve basis, to any destination of their choice in the airline’s global network. There is no restriction on selection of destinations.

Those who will receive an exclusive promo code for Qatar Airways’ complimentary tickets upon filling out the offer registration form online must have a valid employment ID in order to travel. No printed or photo copies of the employment ID will be accepted at the airport check-in desk. Their employment details and personal information should match what is furnished in the registration form.

After receiving the promo code, an eligible healthcare professional can book maximum 2 return economy tickets of Qatar Airways flights for free: one ticket for himself/herself and one for a companion. If the medical professional cancels his or her booking, the ticket for the companion will also be cancelled automatically.

Qatar Airways’ 100,000 complimentary tickets for medical professionals are fully flexible. It means that the tickets can be modified to change travel dates and destination without fees. In view of involuntary flight cancellation, the tickets can be revalidated on new dates for travel before December 10, 2020.

  • Offer period: May 12-18, 2020
  • Booking period: May 12 – November 28, 2020
  • Travel period: May 26 to December 10, 2020
  • Base fare and surcharges will be waived, but taxes are payable
  • Promo codes must be used to book tickets at least before 14 days of departure
  • Promo codes and complimentary tickets are non-transferable
  • Limited seats are available
  • Fare rules of giveaway tickets apply to the booking
  • This offer cannot be clubbed with any other promotion

To ensure a fair distribution of the giveaway to healthcare professionals, Qatar Airways will make a daily allocation of limited tickets to countries on its network. With Qatar Airways’ complimentary flight tickets, medical professionals in the USA can travel to India. Qatar Airways flies to and from Atlanta, Boston, Philadelphia, Miami, Houston, Montreal, Dallas, Sao Paulo, Chicago, Buenos Aires, Los Angeles, New York JFK and Washington IAD. Qatar Airways’ India destinations are Hyderabad, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Delhi, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode.

There are nearly 100,000 physicians of Indian origin in the United States, other than Indian American nurses and clinical researchers. Every 7th doctor in the US is Indian on the frontline in fight against the COVID19 pandemic. Hope they are able to get promo codes for the complimentary tickets that Qatar Airways is offering to thank healthcare professionals for their direct contribution to the global combat against COVID19.
