Indian government approves soft copy of air tickets

Technology has simplified day-to-day tasks, while making life easier for everyone. The Travel industry too has adopted many measures to evolve into a customer friendly sector.mobile ticket

The Indian Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has brought good cheer in the New Year. The Civil Aviation Ministry has adopted an environment-friendly approach to save power and paper.

Keeping abreast with Technology, approval has been given to accept Soft copy display of air tickets on laptops, tablets and smartphones.

“The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security has issued orders for acceptability of soft display of tickets on laptops, tablets or smart phones, at the entry point of the airport” civil aviation ministry sources said.

Currently for Air travel, it is mandatory for travelers to carry a printout of the e-ticket  along with valid identity cards.

Acting as a pioneer, about a year back, the Indian Railways has introduced the system of accepting soft display of tickets.

Printout of tickets is time consuming and not user-friendly.Travelers have either forgotten or misplaced printouts.The Airlines impose a charge of Rs 50 to give printouts at the airport.

The government is also considering doing away with the system of paper-tags for cabin baggage. The welcome change will be implemented within the next few days.
