Avid readers will meet at the sixth annual DSC Jaipur Literature Festival between 24th to 28th January, 2013, at Diggi Palace the Rajasthani capital of Jaipur.

The largest literary festival in Asia-Pacific, celebrating international literature is a melting pot for patrons of the Word.Readings, talks, debates, performances, children’s workshops and interactive activities, there is something for everyone.

This is its sixth year, hosting an International audience from America, Europe, Africa and across the breadth of South Asia.

Drawing in the most brightest, brilliant, funny and remarkable authors, the Jaipur Literature Festival had international queen of talk shows, Oprah Winfrey make her maiden appearance to India in 2012.

The festival draws in on Indian and international  writers and Readers. Diversity of writing in Indian languages will be represented in Hindi, Urdu, Rajasthani, Tamil, Telugu, Bhojpuri, Maithili, Punjabi, Bangla, Malayalam, Gujarati, Sindhi, Kannada, and Kashmiri. The transition of Maithili and Bhojpuri literature from the traditional to the contemporary, will be discussed at length.

The Buddha in Literature, The Republic of Ideas (a Republic Day focus on ideas of India), Hindi-English Bhai Bhai, Lok Geet Folk Geet, Bollywood ki Nayi Sanskriti, and Bibliodiversity Dialogues are some of the themes and session strands at the Festival.
