The Lufthansa Airbus A380 fleet will also let the airline offer flights to new destinations.

The Airbus A380 remains a highly favored aircraft that is cherished by both passengers and crews alike. Eight superjumbos are planned to be stationed at Lufthansa’s Munich hub, with each one expected to return to service between the years 2024 and 2025.

By the conclusion of 2023, Lufthansa anticipates having four operational A380s, with the plan to likely reactivate the D-AIMH and D-AIMH aircraft in 2024. Furthermore, the D-AIMB and D-IAMB will be reintroduced into service between 2024 and 2025.

The decision to reintegrate these superjumbos into the fleet is a necessity arising from the current travel demand, exacerbated by a shortage of available planes. The airline has also experienced delays in the delivery of new aircraft, such as the Boeing 777X and Boeing 787, which has disrupted its flight schedules.
