As the Noida Airport will likely start operations from 2024, the construction is in full swing. From having a world-class passenger processing system to having approximately 6-8 runways, this new airport will include state-of-the-art facilities.

The Uttar Pradesh government has recently released a notification in support of the third phase expansion of Noida International Airport (NIA) in Jewar. This will require the acquisition of 2,053 hectares of land from 14 villages in Gautam Buddh Nagar’s Jewar tehsil. To assess the social impact of this acquisition, Gautam Buddh University will conduct the Social Impact Assessment (SIA), with a target completion date of August 30 for Jewar Airport.

The airport’s first phase of construction is expected to finish in September 2024. Consequently, it will be ready for commercial operations. Located 75 km from Delhi, the Noida Airport will be a public-private Greenfield airport.

The third phase’s land acquisition will follow the 2016 Uttar Pradesh Land Acquisition Rules. Moreover, the affected villages include Khwajapur, Ramner, Thora, Neemka Shahjahanpur, Kishorpur, Banwaribans, Jewar Bangar, Sabauta Mustafabad, Parohi, Mukimpur Shiwara, Ahmadpur Chauroli, Dayanatpur, Bankapur, and Rohi.

Upon completion in the mid-2040s, the Noida Airport will cover around 5,000 hectares, making it the largest airport in India. It will feature multiple runways, in addition to two terminal structures, with an annual passenger traffic of approximately 1.2 million. The airport will also provide facilities for cargo and MRO services.

This new airport will be the third in the National Capital Region, along with Hindon Air Base and Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA).

The development of Noida Airport in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, is progressing steadily. With its strategic location near the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority, the airport is set to become a major hub for both domestic and international flights

The stunning architecture and innovative technologies at Noida airport will amaze you. Soon, flights to India will have a new destination.
