India Travel News: India Operates 3200 Weekly International Flights During Summer Schedule 2022

International Flights Latest Updates: Two months after the resumption of scheduled commercial international passenger services; the Indian Government this Sunday announced a key decision regarding weekly international flight operations. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), India, stated that the country would operate 3,200 international flights per week during the Summer Schedule 2022.

As per the approved summer schedule, Indian carriers will handle 1,466 weekly departures, which include Indigo’s 505 departures and Air India’s 361 departures. Apart from Indigo and Air India, SpiceJet, Air India Express, GoFirst (formerly GoAir), and Vistara are the other airlines operating international flights from India under the summer schedule this year.

These 1,466 weekly international flights will connect different Indian cities to 43 destinations across 27 countries.

As for international airlines, a total of 60 foreign airlines from 40 countries, including Emirates, Singapore Airlines, Qatar Airways, Etihad Airways, British Airways, Lufthansa German, Japan Airlines, and Air France are allowed to operate 1,783 flights from India.

Additionally, the Indian Government has also given the nod to airlines like Salam Air, Air Arabia Abu Dhabi, American Airlines, and Qantas for operating flights to and from India.

The Summer Schedule 2022 is effective from March 27, 2022 till October 29, 2022.
