
The new Terminal 2 at Guwahati’s Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBIA) has received international recognition after being included in the prestigious World’s Most Beautiful Airports 2026 list by the Prix Versailles architecture and design awards.
The recognition puts Guwahati Airport alongside some of the world’s most admired aviation facilities and highlights Assam’s growing role in India’s infrastructure and connectivity landscape. Inspired by the Bamboo Orchid, a symbol of the region’s biodiversity, Terminal 2 combines modern architecture with local cultural elements. The airport was recognized for its lotus-inspired architecture, advanced technology integration, and passenger-centric design.
