Mumbai and Hyderabad may soon get direct flights from Washington DC. According to reliable sources, Washington Dulles International Airport will likely get direct connectivity to these Indian cities and other popular Asian destinations. Time and again, frequent travelers have raised the need for new nonstop flights from USA to major international destinations. And as travel between the United States of America and India has been increasing rapidly; so is the need for more direct flights between these two countries. As the capital of the USA, additional direct flights from Washington will cater to the growing passenger needs.
Notably, Air India flight from Washington to Delhi is currently the only nonstop connection to India from the US capital. If the planned direct flights from IAD to BOM and Washington to Hyderabad materialize, they will provide seamless connections for millions of travelers in these regions.
Will direct flights from USA to Hyderabad finally take off?
After Air India direct flights from Chicago to Hyderabad were suspended, the city is still awaiting a direct connection to the USA. In June this year, there were reports that Delta might consider adding a direct flight from Atlanta to Hyderabad, but the airline has not provided any updates on the proposed route. According to frequent flyers with Indian Eagle travel, direct flights from Washington to Hyderabad would finally answer the prayers of millions of people from Telangana and AP.
Notably, 56% students who received US student visas were from the Telugu-speaking states. Additionally, travelers from these states lead in approvals for other visa categories as well. Yet, ironically, Hyderabad, a major city for both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, lacks a direct connection to the USA.
Which airline will operate direct flights from Washington to new Indian destinations?
Air India is likely to offer direct flights from Washington to Mumbai and Hyderabad, as it has been the leading carrier serving on the USA-India route. However, it is still not clear which airline will operate the IAD to Mumbai or the IAD to HYD flights. Air India only remains a speculative option at this stage.
