Emirates has unveiled a major upgrade to its premium economy cabin, introducing one of the industry’s first fully electric premium economy seats with an adjustable privacy divider on its new Airbus A350 aircraft. The upgraded cabin introduces business-class-inspired features, giving premium economy travelers more comfort and privacy on long-haul flights.

Emirates Redefines Premium Economy With Personalized Seating

The new Emirates premium economy experience puts more control in passengers’ hands with fully electric seat adjustments. Travelers can easily customize their seating position throughout the journey and choose from preset comfort settings created for relaxation and dining.

  • Lounge mode helps passengers settle in and relax
  • Meal mode provides a comfortable position during meals

The new reclining design allows passengers to relax without reducing the personal space of travelers sitting behind them.

New Privacy Divider Creates a More Personal Travel Space

Emirates is introducing a full-height adjustable privacy screen between premium economy seats. Passengers can raise or lower the divider electronically whenever they want more personal space while sleeping, working, or enjoying a meal. The privacy feature gives premium economy travelers a more private cabin experience without upgrading to business class. This improvement is especially useful for passengers on long international flights who want extra comfort and fewer distractions.

More Comfort Features Added to Emirates Premium Economy

The upgraded Emirates premium economy seats include several additional comfort improvements:

  • Adjustable U-Dream headrest for better neck support
  • Wireless charging and USB-C power options
  • Improved leg support for long-haul comfort

These features help passengers stay comfortable during long flights.

Emirates Airbus A350 Premium Economy Cabin Layout

The upgraded premium economy cabin on the Airbus A350 will include:

  • 28 premium economy seats
  • 2-3-2 seating arrangement
  • 20-inch wide seats
  • Up to 39 inches of legroom

Each seat will also feature Emirates’ upgraded 13.3-inch 4K HDR entertainment screen, allowing travelers to enjoy movies, shows, and other entertainment content during their journey.

Enhanced Dining and Premium Economy Benefits

Emirates premium economy already offers upgraded services compared with standard economy, and the new cabin continues that experience. Passengers can enjoy:

  • Improved in-flight meal options
  • Premium beverage selections
  • Exclusive wine choices
  • Aveda skincare amenity kits
  • Premium dining presentation

The airline continues to position premium economy as an option for travelers who want extra comfort without paying business class fares.

When Will Emirates’ New Premium Economy Seats Be Available?

The upgraded premium economy seats will debut on newly delivered Airbus A350 aircraft. Travelers should check the aircraft type when booking their Emirates flight because seat features may vary depending on the aircraft operating the route. Emirates has continued expanding its premium economy cabin since launching the product in 2022, adding the service across more aircraft and destinations.

What This Emirates Premium Economy Upgrade Means for International Travelers

The new Emirates premium economy cabin gives travelers more reasons to choose this class for long-distance journeys. With improved privacy, electric controls, charging options, and enhanced comfort, passengers can enjoy a more relaxing international flight experience.

Air India Express has introduced new uniforms for its cabin crew and frontline employees. The collection takes inspiration from India’s rich textile heritage and brings regional design stories into the airline’s everyday operations. The rollout covers teams working in cabin crew, airport services, aviation security and flight operations. More than 5,200 Air India Express employees will receive the new uniforms.

Air India Express Draws Inspiration From Five Indian Textiles

The new Air India Express uniforms celebrate traditional textiles from different parts of India. The airline has included design influences from:

  • Kanjeevaram from Tamil Nadu
  • Bagh from Madhya Pradesh
  • Patola from Gujarat
  • Gamosa from Assam
  • Pattu from Himachal Pradesh

Each textile tradition has its own colours, motifs and patterns. Air India Express has adapted these cultural influences into a modern uniform design for its employees.

Xpress Blue and Orange Lead the New Look

The uniforms use Air India Express’ Xpress Blue colour palette as the main design element. They also include accents of the airline’s signature Xpress Orange colour. The colours and patterns give the staff a fresh and recognisable look while reflecting the airline’s connection to Indian culture. The designs aim to balance traditional textile inspiration with the needs of a modern airline workplace.

Which Air India Express Employees Will Wear the New Uniforms?

The airline is introducing the uniforms across several customer-facing and operational teams, including:

  • Cabin crew
  • Airport services staff
  • Aviation security personnel
  • Flight operations teams

Pilots will also receive minor updates to their existing uniforms. Air India Express has a workforce of around 8,000 employees.

From Aircraft Tails to Staff Uniforms

The new collection builds on Air India Express’ “Tales of India” theme. The airline already uses patterns inspired by Indian culture and textiles on the tails of its aircraft. With the new staff uniforms, Air India Express is taking the idea from aircraft design to the people who represent the airline at airports and onboard flights. The uniforms allow employees to carry stories from different Indian states throughout their journey.

What the New Uniforms Mean for Passengers

For passengers, the new uniforms create a more consistent and distinctive Air India Express experience. The designs can help travellers identify airline staff more easily at airports and onboard flights.

The collection also gives the airline a way to showcase India’s cultural heritage to domestic and international travellers. As Air India Express continues to grow, its new uniforms add a stronger cultural identity to its customer experience.

Air India Express’ new uniforms combine modern airline design with the textile traditions of Tamil Nadu, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Assam and Madhya Pradesh. The rollout shows how the airline is using Indian heritage to create a fresh and meaningful identity for its employees.

American Airlines will introduce new complimentary snack options on select flights from early October. The airline will add chocolate chip cookies and other snacks to its Main Cabin snack menu, giving travelers a sweet new choice on afternoon and evening flights. The refreshed menu aims to offer more variety during the journey.

Tate’s Bake Shop Cookies Join American Airlines Flights

The chocolate chip cookies will become part of the free snack lineup for Main Cabin travelers. American Airlines will serve the cookies on afternoon and evening flights, along with other snack options. The addition gives passengers a familiar sweet treat while flying. Travelers can enjoy the thin, crispy chocolate chip cookies as a quick snack during their flight.

More Free Snack Choices for Main Cabin Travelers

American Airlines will offer a mix of sweet and savory complimentary snacks at different times of the day. The updated lineup includes:

  • Goldfish crackers on flights throughout the day
  • Tate’s Bake Shop chocolate chip cookies on afternoon and evening flights
  • Peterson’s savory and sweet snack mix later in the day
  • Biscoff cookies on morning flights

Goldfish crackers will remain available throughout the day, giving travelers a savory option. Peterson’s snack mix will add another choice for passengers who prefer a mix of sweet and salty flavors.

Biscoff Cookies Will Continue on Morning Flights

American Airlines will continue to serve Biscoff cookies on morning flights. The popular cookie remains a familiar part of the airline’s in-flight service. Passengers can pair Biscoff cookies with a cup of Lavazza coffee, which American Airlines also serves on board. By keeping Biscoff while adding new items later in the day, the airline balances customer favorites with fresh options.

When Will the New American Airlines Snacks Be Available?

American Airlines expects travelers to start seeing the new snack selections on select flights in early October. Availability may vary by route, flight time, and aircraft service. The airline may also rotate snack choices in the future based on passenger feedback and preferences. Travelers should not expect every snack on every flight, but they will have more complimentary choices than before.

Why American Airlines Updated Its Snack Menu

American Airlines reviewed customer feedback before updating its in-flight snack service. The airline wanted to create a menu that feels familiar, enjoyable, and more varied for Main Cabin travelers. Small details such as food and beverage options can improve the travel experience, especially on longer flights. The new snack lineup supports American Airlines’ wider effort to improve its onboard service, including recent updates to premium dining menus.

American Airlines will expand its complimentary snack menu by adding Tate’s Bake Shop cookies, Goldfish crackers, and Peterson’s snack mix. The new options will begin appearing in early October, giving Main Cabin travelers more choice during their journey.

Breeze Airways will make several temporary network changes in September 2026. These Breeze Airways temporary route suspensions include four route suspensions, frequency reductions on three routes, and a pause in Charleston–Cancun service for several months. Most of the affected routes involve Florida, reflecting the seasonal nature of leisure travel.

Breeze Airways Temporary Route Suspensions

Breeze Airways will temporarily suspend four routes in September, while several other services will operate at reduced frequencies.

  • Fort Lauderdale–Akron/Canton: Service will drop from two flights a week to one from September 5 to October 2.
  • Orlando–Madison: The route will operate twice weekly instead of three times a week from September 6 to 28.
  • Provo–Orange County: Flights will decrease slightly from 18 to 17 per week between September 6 and October 2.

The airline will also suspend Charleston–Cancun service from September 5 through December 19.

Breeze Airways Boosts September Operations

The temporary route cuts do not mean Breeze is reducing its overall operations. According to Cirium data, Breeze is scheduled to operate about 6,823 flights in September 2026, up from 4,755 flights in September 2025. That represents a 43.5% increase. Seat capacity is also expected to grow by 46.3% year over year, driven by the airline’s continued fleet and network expansion.

Airbus A220-300 Becomes Breeze’s Main Aircraft

The Airbus A220-300 is now the main aircraft in Breeze Airways’ scheduled network. The larger aircraft gives Breeze more seats while allowing it to maintain nonstop service between smaller markets and larger destinations. The A220 also offers Breeze Ascent, Extra Legroom and standard seating, with Wi-Fi available on equipped flights. As Breeze expands its A220 operations, the Embraer E190 is playing a much smaller role. According to September schedule data cited by AeroRoutes, the E190 is expected to operate just eight scheduled flights during the month.

Travelers should check the latest schedule before booking September flights, particularly on routes affected by the Breeze Airways temporary route suspensions and frequency cuts.

Delta Air Lines is two months away from launching nonstop flights between Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) and King Khalid International Airport (RUH) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The service begins October 23, 2026. It will be Delta’s first nonstop route to Saudi Arabia and the first nonstop connection between Riyadh and the U.S. operated by a U.S. airline.

Delta Atlanta-Riyadh Flight Schedule

Delta will operate the route daily from October 23 through October 30. After that, flights will run three times a week. The airline will use an Airbus A350-900.

  • DL318: Atlanta to Riyadh — Departs 11:50 p.m., arrives 7:45 p.m. next day.
  • DL317: Riyadh to Atlanta — Departs 11:30 p.m., arrives 7:37 a.m. next day.

Both flights are scheduled overnight. The Atlanta-Riyadh sector takes about 12 hours and 55 minutes. The return flight is much longer, with a scheduled block time of 15 hours and 7 minutes. That makes the westbound service one of Delta’s longest flights.

Airbus A350-900 to Operate the Route

Delta will deploy its long-range Airbus A350-900 on the service. The aircraft will feature four cabin options:

  • Delta One
  • Delta Premium Select
  • Delta Comfort
  • Delta Main

Delta’s 275-seat configuration includes 40 Delta One seats, 40 Premium Select seats, 36 Delta Comfort seats and 159 Main Cabin seats. Passengers will also have access to Delta Studio entertainment and free Delta Sync Wi-Fi for SkyMiles members where available. Halal meal options will be available for advance selection.

Delta Cuts SkyMiles Award Prices

Delta recently introduced a SkyMiles promotion for the new service. Round-trip economy awards are available from 30,000 SkyMiles plus $77 in taxes and fees on eligible dates. The promotion applies to travel from October 23, 2026, through April 15, 2027. The deal is available not only to travelers in Atlanta. Passengers from several U.S. cities can connect through Delta’s Atlanta hub. The promotion could help Delta generate additional demand before the route begins.

Delta’s Edge Over Middle Eastern Carriers

Delta Air Lines will enter a market dominated by Middle Eastern carriers. Qatar Airways, Emirates and Etihad already connect major U.S. cities with their hubs in Doha, Dubai and Abu  Dhabi. Saudia also operates between the U.S. and Saudi Arabia. Delta’s advantage is its domestic network. Atlanta is one of the airline’s largest hubs. Delta can use connecting traffic from across the U.S. to fill seats on the Riyadh flight. That will be important because the airline is operating an A350 on a route with a long flight time and a relatively limited nonstop market.

On August 19, 2026, Lufthansa operated its first passenger flight with the new Lufthansa Group Wi-Fi powered by Starlink. The aircraft was an Airbus A320neo registered D-AINM. It operated flight LH234 from Frankfurt to Rome, departing Frankfurt at 12:15 p.m. At an altitude of around 10,000 meters, Lufthansa Airlines CEO Jens Ritter activated the new system, officially beginning the rollout.

How fast is Lufthansa’s new Starlink internet?

Lufthansa describes the new connection as high-speed broadband internet capable of supporting applications that traditionally require a strong connection on the ground.

Passengers can use it for:

  • Web browsing
  • Video streaming
  • Messaging
  • Cloud-based work
  • Real-time collaboration
  • Other high-bandwidth applications

Lufthansa says the connection can, in many cases, be faster than the internet connection passengers have at home or in their offices. The technology uses Starlink’s low-Earth-orbit satellite network, which is designed to provide higher bandwidth and lower latency than many conventional satellite-based aircraft connectivity systems.

Is Lufthansa Starlink Wi-Fi free?

Yes, for eligible passengers. Lufthansa Group Wi-Fi is available free of charge to Miles & More members and Travel ID users, regardless of travel class. That means eligible passengers in Economy can use the service just like passengers in premium cabins. Passengers need to sign in using their Travel ID or Miles & More membership to access the complimentary service.

Does it work in every cabin?

Yes. Lufthansa says the new Wi-Fi is available across all travel classes, from Economy through First Class, on aircraft equipped with the system. The important distinction is that not every Lufthansa aircraft has Starlink yet. The rollout is still in its early stages.

How many Lufthansa aircraft will get Starlink?

The project is much larger than the initial A320neo launch. Lufthansa Group plans to equip approximately 850 aircraft across its airlines with Starlink by 2029. The company says this would make Lufthansa Group the largest airline group in Europe to deploy this high-speed connectivity technology across such a large fleet. The rollout will cover both existing aircraft and new aircraft entering the fleet.

Which airlines will get Starlink?

The technology is being introduced across the wider Lufthansa Group. The airlines preparing for the rollout include:

  • Lufthansa
  • SWISS
  • Austrian Airlines
  • Brussels Airlines
  • ITA Airways
  • Edelweiss
  • Discover Airlines
  • Air Dolomiti
  • Lufthansa City Airlines
  • Eurowings

The entire Lufthansa Group fleet is targeted for completion by 2029.

When will more Lufthansa aircraft get Starlink?

Lufthansa says up to 10 additional A320-family aircraft operated by Lufthansa and Lufthansa City Airlines are planned to receive the technology during 2026. Installations are primarily being carried out at Lufthansa Technik in Berlin, with the work coordinated with scheduled aircraft maintenance and technical inspections to reduce downtime. The broader rollout will then continue across the Lufthansa Group fleet.

Can passengers stream movies and videos?

Yes. The new connection is specifically designed to support video streaming and other bandwidth-intensive services. Lufthansa says passengers can watch content, work in the cloud and use other high-speed applications during the flight. However, Lufthansa has established onboard usage rules to keep the cabin environment comfortable.

Passengers are asked to:

  • Use headphones when watching videos or listening to audio.
  • Avoid voice calls and video calls.
  • Avoid live streaming from the aircraft.

The restrictions are intended to prevent passengers’ internet use from disturbing other travelers.

Can passengers use multiple devices?

Lufthansa’s current Wi-Fi information says passengers can use the service on all their devices, providing flexibility for people carrying phones, tablets and laptops. The system is intended to provide a continuous connection from departure through arrival on equipped flights.

Can passengers check whether their flight has Starlink?

Not yet in a comprehensive way. Lufthansa currently says the service is available only on selected aircraft and flights, and it is gradually being rolled out. At the beginning of the rollout, passengers cannot yet reliably check availability before a flight. Lufthansa says a flight-search function will be introduced as the service becomes available on more aircraft. So simply booking a Lufthansa flight does not currently guarantee Starlink Wi-Fi.

What happens to FlyNet?

Lufthansa is effectively moving toward a new connectivity experience through Lufthansa Group Wi-Fi powered by Starlink. The airline’s current internet overview lists two onboard options:

  1. Lufthansa Group Wi-Fi powered by Starlink
  2. FlyNet

The new Starlink-based service is being progressively introduced while the fleet is upgraded.

What if powering a commercial aircraft cost only a few dollars? That idea may still sound distant. But a recent test flight by Heart Aerospace has offered a glimpse of what electric aviation could eventually achieve. The US-based aviation company has successfully flown its full-scale X1 electric aircraft for the first time. The 27-minute flight ran entirely on battery power. According to the company, the aircraft used around $5 worth of electricity during the test.

X1’s Size and First Test Flight

The X1 is far larger than a typical experimental electric aircraft. It has a wingspan of 106 feet and a length of 76 feet. It weighs more than 25,000 pounds. For comparison, that is roughly the weight of an empty school bus. The aircraft took off from a regional airport in upstate New York. It climbed to around 1,100 feet before completing the test flight. Only one pilot was onboard. No passengers were carried.

X1 is helping develop a future passenger aircraft

The X1 is more than a one-off demonstration aircraft. Heart Aerospace is using it to test technologies for its planned ES-30 hybrid-electric aircraft. The ES-30 is designed to carry up to 30 passengers. The company is targeting entry into service around 2031. Heart Aerospace expects the aircraft to reduce operating costs by more than 40% compared with conventional regional aircraft. Lower energy use is one part of that calculation. The company also expects savings from maintenance and aircraft reliability. Airlines such as United Airlines, Air Canada and JSX have already expressed interest in the ES-30.

Does $5 mean cheaper flight tickets?

Not immediately. The $5 amount represents only the electricity used during the demonstration. It does not cover the full cost of operating an aircraft. Airlines still have to pay for pilots, maintenance, airport services, insurance and aircraft financing. Battery replacement and long-term battery performance are also important costs. Therefore, the test does not mean passengers will soon see $500 airfares. The bigger opportunity is in operating costs. Electric aircraft can potentially use much less energy than conventional aircraft. They may also need less maintenance because electric propulsion systems have fewer moving parts.

The real breakthrough is not the $5 cost but the X1’s battery-powered flight. Future electric aircraft could significantly reduce short-haul operating costs.
