Passengers traveling from West Coast airports can relax and unwind in a stylish new environment prior to boarding, as Alaska Airlines celebrates the grand opening of its expanded lounge facility at Portland International Airport (PDX). Spanning a total area of close to 14,000 square feet, the lounge has been designed with a distinctly Pacific Northwest ambiance and offers more than 230 seats ranging from workstations to recliners, double the capacity of the old lounge.
A Luxe Lounge Built for Relaxation
The Alaska Airlines lounge at PDX is built with spacious space and panoramic views of the airport’s new terminal building. Among the various amenities available are a centrally located fireplace, cocktails with a local West Coast twist, and freshly brewed coffee beverages made by the in-house barista.
The new lounge opening is another step towards solidifying Alaska Airlines’ growing foothold in PDX, which is the airline’s largest hub in the Pacific Northwest region. As many as 50% more seats are slated to operate out of Portland within a span of two years, underlining the significance of the city in the airline’s network.
