Hi Krishna! You need a transit visa for Paris or any other airport in Europe, since your US visa has expired.

Hi Shyama! If your student visa has not expired and if you don’t step out of the transit area of Charles de Gaulle Airport, transit visa is not required.

    Hi ,
I am travelling from USA to Inida via Paris (CDG) by end of January 2023. My work visa expires in Feb 2023.
Before my return trip i will get a new stamping as well.
When i had a conversation with Delta Airlines, they said i need to get Schengen visa.
Could you please confirm the current requirement ?

Hi Saravanan! If the itinerary has a connection between two airports in the Schengen Area, then you require a short-stay Schengen visa. If you happen to transit when CDG Airport is closed overnight, you need a Schengen visa to accommodate yourself outside the airport. In our knowledge, Indian passport holders having a valid visa or residence permit issued by the USA do not need an airport transit visa for France. You may need a transit Schengen visa probably because your US visa expires in FEB.

    Hello.
I’m planning to fly from Indian to USA on Indian passport with valid student visa for a vacation.
I tried booking through Air France mobile app and I have an airlines change in Paris while going and airlines change in Amsterdam while returning. Do I need to get any visa other than USA or am I allowed to travel to designated destination through France and Netherlands?

Hi Avinash! Having a valid US visa, you don’t need any other visa to transit in Paris, as far as we know. You may need a short-stay Schengen visa if your transit happens during the night in Paris. No other visa is required to transit in Amsterdam. However, you should also check with the airline.

Hi team, I am travelling back from Delhi to US via Paris connection. I will get my valid visa stamped in Delhi before this return journey.
( I also have a valid Canadian tourist visa)
As per knowledge/research I should be able to transit paris without visa. Can you let me know your views.
I read below line in a embassy website for people exempt from airport transit visa in France:
“Holders of valid visa for another EU or EEA (European Economic Area) State, Canada, Japan, or the United States, or returning after having used the said visa; “

Hi RSN! Having a valid US visa, you don’t need a transit visa for France. If you wish to step out of the airport for some city sightseeing, you need a short-stay Schengen Visa for France/Paris. At the same time, you can check with the airline.
