Details of Spellathon 2017 in Texas: Most-awaited Spelling Bee Contest for Indian American Kids

Young Indian Americans have evolved as “elite spellers” because of their consistent achievement in spelling bee contests held across USA. 12-year-old Indian American girl Ananya Vinay from California won the recently concluded 90th Scripps National Spelling Bee contest, beating out 291 finalists among more than 11 million participants. The Spellathon 2017 in Plano, TX is back with a bang. This contest is more special for young Indians in America as they participate in more numbers. One of the best events for Plano Indians in August 2017, the 4th edition of Spellathon is scheduled to be held at two locations: Davis Library and Parr Library. The junior’s contest will be held at Davis Library and the senior’s contest will be held at Parr Library.

Spellathon is a spelling bee contest that plays a vital role in improving the spelling and vocabulary skills of students from Grade 1 to Grade 8.The 4th edition of Spellathon 2017 in Plano, TX is an amalgamation of excellence in language and the quest to realize the potential of kids in this competitive world.

The junior’s contest of the Spellathon 2017 in Plano, TX will be held on August 12 for students from Grade 1 to 4. The senior’s contest of the 4th Edition of Spellathon in Plano, TX will be held on August 19, and students from Grade 5 to Grade 8 can participate in it.

Eligibility criteria for participants of the Spellathon 2017 in Plano, Texas:

  • Student ID is mandatory during check-in before the 4th edition of Spellathon 2017 Event.
  • Students currently studying in Grade 1 to 4 are eligible for the junior’s contest, and students who are in Grade 5 to Grade 8 are eligible to contest in the senior category.
  • For a student to participate in the Spellathon 2017 in Plano, TX, it is mandatory to carry a printout of the ticket. In case you forget to bring the ticket, you can show the registration on the Eventbrite app.
  • At the time of registration, do make sure you submit the full name of the student as it should match with the name of the student participating in the 4th edition of Spellathon 2017 in Plano, TX.
