United Airlines will expand its global network in 2027 with new flights to Europe and Asia. Starting in March 2027, the airline plans to serve 10 new international cities. Eight of these destinations currently do not receive service from another U.S. airline. United also introduced its Airbus A321XLR aircraft during the route announcement at Newark Liberty International Airport. The airline plans to use the new aircraft on selected long-haul services.
United Airlines’ New International Destinations
United plans to launch service to the following destinations:
- San Francisco to Okinawa, Japan
- Newark to Luxembourg City, Luxembourg
- Newark to Marseille, France
- Washington Dulles to Toulouse, France
- Newark to Ibiza, Spain
- Newark to Terceira, Portugal
- Newark to Ljubljana, Slovenia
- Newark to Valencia, Spain
- Newark to Olbia, Italy
- Newark to Catania, Italy
These services will give travelers more nonstop options for leisure trips, business travel and visits to historic European cities.
Airbus A321XLR to Support Selected Services
The Airbus A321XLR has a longer range than earlier A321 aircraft and can fly longer international sectors more efficiently. United can use this aircraft to operate routes that may not need a larger wide-body plane. For travelers, the aircraft can help create more direct connections to destinations that previously required a stop at a major European or Asian airport.
Additional United Airlines International Flights
United also announced additional international services from several U.S. cities:
- Washington, D.C. to Milan, Italy
- Los Angeles to Osaka, Japan
- San Francisco to Tel Aviv, Israel
- Denver to Paris, France
The San Francisco–Tel Aviv flight will restore a previous connection between the two cities. Meanwhile, the Los Angeles–Osaka service will add another direct travel option from California to Japan. The Washington, D.C.–Milan and Denver–Paris routes will also expand United’s nonstop network to Europe. Milan attracts business and leisure travelers, while Paris remains a leading destination for U.S. visitors.
More Travel Choices for International Travelers
United’s 2027 expansion will give travelers more ways to fly from the United States to Europe and Asia. Nonstop services can save time and reduce the need for additional layovers.
The new network also offers access to destinations beyond the usual international gateways. Travelers can fly more easily to places such as Luxembourg, Slovenia, Portugal’s Azores and southern Italy.
With these new international routes, travelers will have more options for vacations, business trips and family travel beginning in March 2027 with United Airlines.
