On supported devices, pressing the smartphone’s power button three times can trigger an emergency alert. The app also includes the SHOUT feature, which alerts nearby registered volunteers during emergencies involving women and children.

When Should You Call 112?

Call 112 for:

  • Crime or theft
  • Assault or violence
  • Fire accidents
  • Medical emergencies
  • Road accidents
  • Women or child safety emergencies
  • Any situation where immediate emergency assistance is required

The emergency call is routed to the nearest Emergency Response Centre, which coordinates with police, ambulance, fire, and other relevant services.

How to Contact Emergency Services Safely

  • Save 112 as your primary emergency contact.
  • Share your live location whenever possible.
  • Stay calm, and clearly describe your location and the nature of the emergency.
  • Use emergency numbers only for genuine emergencies. Misuse can delay assistance to people in real need.
