It’s raining awards for Qatar Airways just in time as the airline is celebrating its 25 years of service, making its silver jubilee even more special. After being named the ‘World’s Best Airline’ (for the seventh time in a row) by Skytrax World Airline Awards 2022, the Doha-based airline became the proud recipient of the title, ‘World’s Leading Airline’ at the prestigious World Travel Awards 2022 held at Muscat, Oman on November 11.
Apart from Qatar Airways, other airlines that were ranked the best in the world in various categories at the World Travel Awards 2022 include Emirates, Oman Air, Singapore Airlines, and Etihad Airways. Emirates received the ‘World’s Leading Airline Brand’ and ‘World’s Leading Airline to the Middle East’ awards. It also bagged two more awards for its great inflight entertainment as well as rewards program. While Singapore Airlines won the ‘World’s Leading Airline to Asia 2022’ award, American Airlines clinched the ‘World’s Leading Airline to North America’ this year.
As for the world’s leading airline in various seating classes, Etihad took home this award in the economy class category, Oman Air in business class, and Singapore Airline in first class. Besides this, Oman Air Business Class Lounge (at Muscat International Airport) and Etihad Airways First Class Lounge & Spa (at Abu Dhabi International Airport) were named the top-class in the airline lounge categories.
At the World Travel Awards 2022, the ‘World’s Leading Airport Lounge – First Class’ was awarded to Adani Lounge by TFS Performa at the Mumbai Airport.
