Pune Airport is set to improve its passenger services with the reopening of its renovated old terminal building. The upgraded terminal has been expanded and modernised to handle the city’s growing air traffic and reduce congestion during peak travel hours. After receiving final approval from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), the renovated terminal will open for passengers with improved facilities, smoother movement, and a better airport experience.

Pune Airport Renovation to Improve Passenger Capacity

The airport has witnessed a steady rise in passenger traffic, creating a need for better infrastructure and efficient passenger management. The renovated old terminal will help the airport handle increasing demand, especially during busy travel periods. The expanded facility is expected to increase Pune Airport’s passenger-handling capacity by around 405 passengers per hour. This additional capacity will help reduce long queues at:

  • Check-in counters
  • Security checkpoints
  • Boarding areas

The expansion will also allow the airport to use its existing infrastructure more effectively while improving passenger flow.
