The Civil Aviation Ministry is organizing its first Global Aviation Summit on 15th January 2019, in Grand Hyatt, Mumbai. The 2-day summit is organized in collaboration with the Aviation Authority of India (AAI), Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) and the Government of India.
With an underlying theme of “Flying for all – especially for the next 6 billion”, the aim of the global summit is to recognize the fast growth of aviation in India and offer the stakeholders a platform to showcase the challenges of the aviation industry in the growth areas and make an effort to understand the ways technology can shape the aviation industry in the country.
In words of Suresh Prabhu, the Minister of Civil Aviation and Commerce & Industry, “The reason behind hosting the Global Aviation Summit here is because India is one of the fastest growing aviation markets in the world. This Summit will provide a platform to the global aviation fraternity to display the challenges of the sector in the newly developing growth spots and understand how technology- driven innovation will shape the air travel industry in India”.
The summit will also throw light on the latest aviation trends, future aircrafts and avant-garde technologies. Concepts like drones, volocopters, air taxis, ultra-light aerial vehicles, new jets, etc. will be discussed by the CEOs and experts of the aviation sector. The discussion will also entail the topics of safety & security, future airports, financing and leasing, innovations, growth in logistics and cargos, etc.
The 2-day Global Aviation Summit in Mumbai will be attended by prominent aviation ministers of various countries like Myanmar, Bangladesh, Nepal, Russia, Poland, Kuwait, Laos and some more. Recently, an app ‘GAS 2019’ is launched by Jayant Sinha, the Minister of State of Civil Aviation. The app will offer latest updates about the global summit and is now available on iOS and Playstore. It will give the users an opportunity to interact with the speakers and co-delegates.
