India’s largest airline, IndiGo, has introduced a new budget-friendly travel option called IndiGo Lite Fare. The new fare is designed for passengers who travel with only cabin baggage and want to pay only for the services they need.
The airline will begin offering the IndiGo Lite Fare from July 1, 2026, through its direct booking platforms. However, the fare will be available for flights departing on or after July 15, 2026.
Benefits and Eligibility
The IndiGo Lite Fare is aimed at passengers who do not require checked baggage. Instead of paying for bundled services, travelers can choose only the extras they need. Every IndiGo Lite Fare booking includes:
- One cabin bag weighing up to 7 kg
- An automatically assigned seat at no extra cost
- Access to optional travel add-ons
- Eligibility to earn and redeem IndiGo BluChip loyalty points
This fare is available on domestic and international non-stop flights. It can also be booked for:
- One-way journeys
- Round-trip bookings
- Multi-city itineraries
The fare applies to both adult and child passengers.
Optional Services Can Be Added Later
Passengers booking the IndiGo Lite Fare can customize their journey by adding optional services. Paid services can be added through IndiGo’s website, at the airport, up to one hour before departure. Optional services include:
- Check-in baggage
- Preferred seat selection
- Meals
- Fast Forward priority service
This allows customers to control their travel expenses while choosing only the services they value.
IndiGo’s Fare Portfolio Continues to Grow
With the launch of the IndiGo Lite Fare, the airline has expanded its 6E Ways to Fly product portfolio. Passengers can now choose from multiple fare options, including:
- Saver
- Flexi Plus
- IndiGo UpFront
- IndiGoStretch
- Stretch+
- IndiGo Lite
The wider range gives travelers more flexibility to choose a fare based on their budget, comfort preferences, and travel requirements. Customers can book the IndiGo Lite Fare exclusively through IndiGo’s official website, the airline’s mobile application, and its contact centre.
