Etihad Airways has revealed the cabin interiors for its upcoming Airbus A330neo fleet, giving travellers a first look at the airline’s latest First, Business and Economy Class products. Etihad has designed the aircraft around its new “Beyond Borders” concept, which takes inspiration from Abu Dhabi’s landscapes and architecture. Each Airbus A330neo will have 280 seats across three cabin classes.
Etihad A330neo Gets Four Private First Class Suites
A key highlight is the new Etihad A330neo First Class cabin. The airline plans to install four private First Class suites in the front row of the aircraft. Each suite includes a sliding door for added privacy throughout the journey. The seat is about 22 inches wide and converts into a bed roughly 78.5 inches long. Passengers will also get a large 32-inch 4K entertainment screen. The suites include extra storage, a personal grooming space and a leather ottoman. The ottoman can also serve as a companion seat when passengers want to dine or spend time together. Higher suite walls and a separate partition will provide additional separation between First and Business Class.
Business Class Lie-Flat Seats and Direct Aisle
Etihad will provide 24 seats in its Business cabin on the upcoming A330neo aircraft. The airline will use a 1-2-1 seating layout, giving every passenger direct aisle access. Each seat will convert into a fully flat bed and include its own privacy door. Business Class travellers will also get a 17.3-inch 4K entertainment screen and wireless charging. These features should make the cabin more comfortable for both business travellers and leisure passengers on longer journeys.
Economy Class Also Gets an Upgrade
Etihad has not limited the improvements to its premium cabins. The A330neo will carry 252 Economy Class seats, each measuring about 18 inches wide. The seats will feature Etihad’s adjustable headrest design to provide better support while passengers rest. Every Economy passenger will also have access to a 13.3-inch 4K inflight entertainment display. Travellers who want more space can choose from 32 extra-legroom Economy seats that offer around four additional inches of room.
What Is Etihad’s “Beyond Borders” Design?
Etihad calls its new cabin style “Beyond Borders.” The design takes inspiration from the natural landscape and architecture of Abu Dhabi. The airline plans to extend this look across more parts of the passenger journey rather than limiting it to one aircraft type. Etihad has already introduced premium features on its Airbus A321LR aircraft and now aims to create a more consistent style across newer aircraft, lounges and other passenger spaces.
Etihad Plans a Fleet of 15 Airbus A330neos
Etihad plans to add 15 Airbus A330neo aircraft to its fleet. The airline placed a direct order with Airbus for six A330neos and will lease another nine aircraft. The new widebody jets will help Etihad increase capacity and support its continued growth from Abu Dhabi.
What Passengers Can Expect
The new A330neo cabin brings noticeable improvements across all three classes. First Class passengers will get larger private suites, while Business Class travellers will have lie-flat seats, direct aisle access and privacy doors. Economy passengers will benefit from 4K entertainment screens, 18-inch-wide seats and an optional extra-legroom section. Together, these upgrades show that Etihad wants to improve comfort across the entire aircraft rather than focusing only on premium travellers.
Etihad’s new A330neo fleet will play an important role in the airline’s next phase of growth. With private First Class suites, Business seats with privacy doors, an upgraded Economy cabin and 4K entertainment across all classes, the aircraft will offer passengers a more modern travel experience.
The first A330neo is expected to enter service in 2027, and travellers will be watching to see which Etihad routes receive the aircraft first.
