Delhi Airport Becomes the World’s 10th Busiest Airport Delhi Airport Latest News: For the aviation, tourism, and hospitality sectors; the path to recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic has been particularly tough, what with cases resurging and travel restrictions re-emerging time and again. However, Indian aviation seems to be making good progress and the latest report by the Official Airline Guide (OAG) – a global aviation analytics firm – is the proof. According to OAG rankings, Indira Gandhi International Airport emerged as the 10th busiest global airport in the world for the month of October 2022. OAG considered both domestic and international capacities for this report.

In the OAG rankings for October 2019 (pre-pandemic), Delhi Airport stood 14th in the list of the world’s busiest airports, and this time, it rose up four positions (despite the pandemic-induced slump in aviation) to become the 10th busiest airport in the world. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is named the busiest airport in the world in October 2022. Dubai Airport and Tokyo Airport secured the second and third places respectively. Chicago O’Hare International Airport and Los Angeles International Airport are the other US airports to feature in the list of top 10 global airports in the world, ranking seventh and ninth respectively.
