Air Canada has officially declared that it will resume the daily, Toronto-Delhi non-stop flights this year from 1 October (eastbound) and 3 October (westbound).
The Vice President, Network Planning at Air Canada, Mark Gallardo said, “We are very pleased to resume our daily, non-stop Toronto-Delhi flights in time for Diwali celebrations and with additional capacity going forward to meet expected demand. With our Delhi flights returning to normal together with our seasonal return to Mumbai for fall firmly demonstrating our long term commitment to this vibrant market, we look forward to operating our full schedule to India.”
When asked about his views on the initiative taken by Air Canada to the President and CEO of Canada-India Business Council, he replied, “The resumption of Air Canada’s direct flights is a most welcome development.” Adding further to his statement, Rao said, “At a time of increasing commercial activity between Canada and India, Air Canada’s direct flights represent a very important element in connecting the business communities in both countries as well as the growing number of tourists, students, families and cargo traffic.”
In the beginning, Boeing 787 Dreamliners will be set to operate the Toronto-Delhi flights and from 27 October, the route will be operated by Boeing 777-300ER aircraft with 400 seats, adding capacity. The aircraft will feature the award-winning Signature Class, Economy class and Premium Economy services of Air Canada.
The seasonal Toronto-Mumbai Air Canada flights will be operated by Boeing 777-200LR aircraft four times in a week, starting from 27 October, 2019 to 28 March, 2020.
Air Canada will operate a maximum of 18 flights in a week connecting a wide range of cities of North America to Delhi from both Vancouver and Toronto & to Mumbai from Toronto. All the Air Canada flights have multilingual crews and provide in-flight entertainment facilities that include multilingual films. Passengers traveling with Air Canada can collect Aeroplan Miles and redeem it through the leading loyalty programme of Canada. The eligible customers get access to Maple Leaf lounges, priority services and some more benefits.
