Air India is going over the top to ensure it continues dominating the USA-India aviation market. The iconic carrier now operates nearly 51 weekly nonstop flights to the USA. Although American carriers have stopped operating on certain routes due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Air India has managed to increase flight frequency on the USA-India route. Despite the global geopolitical issues, Air India capitalized on the situation and strengthened its market position.
The airline now plans to further expand its operations with the addition of new Airbus A350s in the Air India fleet. These advanced jets are expected to begin US operations in the final quarter of the year. This will likely solidify Air India’s lead in the region.

The Dominance of Air India Nonstop Flights to USA
Notably, before the COVID-19 pandemic, Air India operated 33 non-stop flights a week to the US. Post-pandemic, the carrier has added new routes, increasing its operations to 51 weekly nonstop flights. Air India lets travelers fly to major destinations in the USA such as New York (JFK), Newark (EWR), Chicago (ORD), Washington DC (IAD), and San Francisco (SFO).
At present, Air India operates 14 weekly nonstop flights from Mumbai (BOM), 34 from Delhi (DEL), and 3 from Bengaluru (BLR) to various US cities mentioned above. Furthermore, Air India maintains a significant presence in key US airports. The airline offers 18 weekly departures from San Francisco, 14 from JFK in New York, 7 each from Newark and Chicago, and 5 from Washington. According to many people traveling through Indian Eagle cheap tickets, this extensive network positions Air India as a preferred choice for people flying between the two countries.
Airbus A350 to Become a Game Changer for Air India
The operation of Air India Airbus A350 aircraft on new US routes and increased frequencies to existing destinations will solidify the airline’s position as a legacy carrier in the sector. Air India’s A350-900 jet features a three-class cabin configuration. This includes 24 Air India Premium Economy seats with extra legroom, around 264 spacious Economy Class seats, and 28 private Business Class suites with full-flat beds.
All seats on the iconic aircraft are equipped with the new Panasonic eX3 inflight entertainment system and HD screens. This ensures an exceptional flying experience. Currently, Air India has six A350-900s, and 14 more will be joining the fleet next year. Additionally, Air India has 20 A350-1000s on order, with one currently under production.
