I have a us visa but an india passport and i am planning to go to back to new delhi (india) from newyork and i will have a connecting flight from newyork to new delhi with a layover of 21 hrs in japan. I want to go out of the airport ,do i need to apply for transit visa and how can i apply for it.

Hi! I am planning to travel from JFK to Delhi with a stop in Haneda airport for 18.5 hrs. I checked with the airlines the terminal remains the same. (I have a valid US visa and I am an Indian passport holder). Will I need a transt visa?

Hello ,

I have a flight from Del to Tokyo’s Haneda landing at terminal 3 at 6 Am. The lay over is 10.5 hours and the next flight leaves from Tokyo’s Haneda Terminal 3 to SFO. Both flights are Japan Airlines ( landing and leaving from Haneda to/from terminal 3 ) Do I require transit Visa in this case ? I don’t wish to exit the airport .

Would appreciate your response .

How much time it takes to get a transit visa? On the website, they have mentioned 4 working days excluding the date of application submission.

Itinerary:
3rd Feb 18: 55 DEL – Tokyo (Haneda) 4th Feb 06:00
4th Feb 21:05 Tokyo (Haneda) – Seattle 4th Feb 13:10

Layover of 15 hours, so I am planning to do some sightseeing. I have an appointment at VFS Global, New Delhi in 3 hours. This gives me the next whole week (5 working days) to get my visa approved and pick up my passport on 2nd Feb (Friday, 1 day before my flight).

This seems a bit risky. So, wanted to know if I have a high chance that I will be able to pick up my passport on Feb 2nd.
