In reply to Alok Chang. 100% Wish we could end the H1B program and replace it with a new visa only for Phd holders instead of mediocre “programmers” from Hyderabad Community College.

7% country cap is in place so no one country of origin can hijack the immigration system. Still 60% of visas go to indians due to spillover from other countries. There are already too many of you here than any other country.

Given the current situations, it is preferable that preference for H1B should be given to the person already on job at US Company, in US and done higher studies at US university ,like MASTERS OR IN ANY OTHER SPECIALISED FIELD. that will automatically serve the purpose of law of high skilled employment criteria and also had already subscribed sizeable contributions in forms of bearing education expenses for higher educations.
This will help reduced backlog as well as save on various serving cost.

Biden administration will give green card to over 12 million illegals then why not give green cards to all h1b VISA holders in usa. They are contributing members who pays taxes and most of them are enraprenuers creating jobs in usa.
