Air India even after TATA take over is largely a big disappointment.

Unprofessional unreliable staff, the modern aircraft from USA to India is not there for all the flights, still an outdated poorly maintained equipment.

Operational issues not dependable. Will downgrade to lower class without notice.

Erratic and disappointing the marketing advertisement is not the true picture

Most Of them come with extra pieces of Carry on and it is a gimmick to get to the cabin early so they can get Over head bin space. Apart from asking for Medical certificates the airlines esp in International sector should strictly enforce 1 piece Carry on per person.

It’s well known that many in the Indian community misuse the wheelchair availability for all the reasons mentioned. Providing proof should be considered so there is a genuine need. More buggies should be made available to transport passengers in between gates as well as exits because the distance one has to walk is not easy even for able bodied people especially if you have travelled long distance and sat for a length of time. Some airports are so huge that it can be taxing to maneuver.

Having traveled to India multiple times over the last 40 yrs it was the first time on Etihad 3 weeks ago, just returned on 4/24, and if I can help it will be the last. The inflight entertainment is one of the worst. All the movies and TV shows were at least a decade old. Same goes to games. There was no decent music either so spent the 13 hrs plus from Bangalore to NY with no entertainment. Except for one meal food was pretty bad both onward and return. I had requested for special Asian vegetarian meals. The only saving grace was the extra leg room which I paid for.

In reply to Mody Jacob. My experience is different. I noticed flight attendants are more courteous with Indians than before. I am a frequent traveler from SFO to HYD since 2016 and I have been only on AI since 2016. Yes, outdated crafts are still there, especially to DEL but SFO - BLR has brand new crafts. At least I don't get that nasty look when I ask for more drink from AI staff. I love AI.

Many Indian passport holders have either no given name or no surname. I’ve seen various suggestions on forums such as entering “FNU” (First Name Unknown), “LNU” (Last Name Unknown), or repeating the same name in both the given name and surname fields (e.g., if the passport shows “Ram Sharma” as the given name and no surname, then entering “Ram Sharma” in both given and surname fields).

What is the correct way to enter names in such cases when booking airline tickets?

Hi Dr Raj, were you able to book the city tour? Do we need visa for it. I am also travelling from Bangalore to Bali with 23 hrs layover in Singapore and have the same question for the city tour.

I declared and its just 80gm of gold jewellery and we are two passengers (mother and daughter). They made me pay ithe import tax and it happened just yesterday!
