If you think clean beaches in India are an anomaly then think again!<\/p>\n

Fact<\/strong>: India has no dearth of beaches; clean or otherwise. But some beaches can take you by surprise by how unreal they can appear (due to their sparkling and spotless appearance) in a country as chaotic and crowded as India.<\/p>\n

Enter Marari Beach: A clean beach in Kerala<\/a>, India<\/strong> that looks like a famous artist\u2019s beautiful painting. Coconut palm trees line up the area as if guarding the beach as alert sentinels. The palm cover is thick in places; followed by grass and then the sand takes centerstage before the Arabian Sea tides saunter in and out \u2013 making everything more profound. All these elements come together to enthrall the audience (whomever they may be) and offer them a view that is gorgeous and spellbinding and comforting and inviting: akin to a soft bed in a comfortable house at the end of a tiring day. All you would want is to sink into the sand and let the palms fan you and the water graze you lightly and cool and soothe your tired feet and the sun\u2019s rejuvenating rays fill you with a sense of relaxation like never before.

Marari Beach, Kerala<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Now, where is Marari Beach in Kerala? It is at a very convenient distance from many towns and cities in the state. You can take a flight to Kochi and drive to this secluded spot (that alone will make your visit to the state worthwhile).
\nYou can drive on the NH 47 from Kochi to Marari. By covering a distance of around 40 kms and within an hour\u2019s time, you will be at this exquisite beach. But traffic can be usually very high, which can extend your travel time by 30 minutes or so. Traveling time from Kochi Airport<\/strong><\/a> to Marari Beach can at times extend to more than two hours also.<\/p>\n

Alleppey (Alappuzha) railway station is around 16 kms away from the beach and by bus it is approximately 11 kms away. From Alleppey, you can take a train and reach Marari within 30 minutes or so. Kottayam is also some 42 kms away.<\/p>\n

If you are in Munnar and wish to stop by Marari, it will take you around 4.5 hours by train.<\/p>\n

Things to do in Marari Beach<\/strong><\/h2>\n

If you want to do anything else other than to just laze around the beach then there are plenty of options at Marari. If you visit this place in August; do not miss the famed snake boat races in Kerala. You can also hop around town and explore fishing villages and backwater canals near the area. There are some coir-making units nearby that you can visit. Plenty of adventure sport activities are also available on the beach.<\/p>\n

Tourist Attractions near Marari Beach<\/strong><\/h2>\n

There are plenty of place to see in and near Marari Beach. Some of these are:<\/p>\n

– Mararikulam Shiva Temple
\n– St. Thomas Church
\n– Attractions in Alleppey such as the famous backwaters of Kerala
\n– St. Andrews Basilica in Arthunkal Village
\n– Mannarasala Sree Nagaraja Kshetram<\/p>\n

Best Months to Explore Marari Beach<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Other than April and May; rest of the year is ideal to visit Marari Beach. In the months of June, July, and August; when monsoons grace Kerala; the weather will be cooler and you may need warm clothing and umbrella etc. Monsoon months can be wet and messy. But you can get great deals at this time. If you simply want to relax by the sea and under the shade; visiting Kerala during rains is not a problem. But it is ideal to plan a trip to Kerala from September to March for the best experience.<\/p>\n

September is warm and also the month of the Onam Festival. The entire state will be awash in its fervor and you can experience a famous and traditional aspect of Kerala during your holiday. October will be a little warm but November and December are colder months of the year. December is the month of Christmas, which is also celebrated with great zeal in Kerala. Why not plan a holiday in Kerala during Christmas and New Year break! January is cold but not as much as the preceding two months. February and March are bright and sunny.<\/p>\n

In August and September; the green cover is still breathing a sigh of relief due to rejuvenating rains just prior. The sun shines crisp and bright \u2013 not overbearing at all but warm enough to offer comfort.<\/p>\n

Where to Stay in Marari<\/strong><\/h2>\n

There are plenty of resorts and homestays in Marari. You can book rooms anywhere you fancy. Xanderi Pearl is at a short distance from the beach. Other options are Heritage Haven, Marari Villas, Angel\u2019s Homestay Marari, Marari Austin Beach Villa, Flamingo Marari Homestay etc.<\/p>\n

Kochi is well-connected via air with major cities in India. You can take flights to India<\/strong><\/a> to any city such as Mumbai, Delhi, or Hyderabad and then fly to Kochi.
