Academic Journey<\/b><\/h2>\n

Nathan’s exceptional abilities became evident at an early age. He earned a perfect score on his kindergarten readiness assessment, demonstrating advanced learning skills long before entering higher education.<\/span><\/p>\n

His mother, Rani Thomas, played an important role in encouraging his curiosity and helping him understand complex ideas. Growing up in a family with an engineering background also strengthened his interest in science, mathematics, and technology.<\/span><\/p>\n

At just 10 years old, Nathan enrolled through a dual-enrollment program at Miami Dade College, becoming one of the institution’s youngest students.<\/span><\/p>\n

By the age of 14, he had completed an Associate of Arts in Mathematics, making him the youngest graduate in Miami Dade College’s history. Soon after, he transferred to Florida International University (FIU) to continue his engineering education.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nathan graduated from FIU with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at only 16 years old. He completed the degree with honors, an achievement that placed him years ahead of the traditional academic timeline.<\/span><\/p>\n

His academic success continued. By 18, he earned a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, also with honors, from Florida International University.<\/span><\/p>\n

Making History as the World’s Youngest Male Professor<\/b><\/h2>\n

Nathan’s next achievement gained worldwide attention.<\/span><\/p>\n

In August 2023, he joined Miami Dade College as an engineering instructor. At 18 years and 346 days old, he officially became the world’s youngest male professor.<\/span><\/p>\n

The achievement earned him recognition from Guinness World Records and broke a record that had stood since 1717. The previous record belonged to Scottish mathematician Colin Maclaurin, who became a professor at the age of 19. Nathan also became a professor 16 days younger than Alia Sabur, who had previously been recognized as the youngest professor overall.<\/span><\/p>\n

His appointment proved that academic excellence and teaching ability are not defined by age.<\/span><\/p>\n

At Miami Dade College, Nathan teaches COP 2270 \u2013 C for Engineers, a course that introduces engineering students to programming using the C language.<\/span><\/p>\n
