Emirates has marked a milestone in cabin modernization by completing its first high-density Emirates A380 premium economy retrofit on a 615-seat aircraft. The refurbished aircraft returned to service on May 20, 2026, following a two-month overhaul, and now features an upgraded three-class layout with a premium economy cabin on the upper deck for the first time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The retrofit is part of Emirates\u2019 ongoing mission to modernize its fleet by aligning its older A380s with current customer expectations. In the older Emirates high-density A380 aircraft, there were 557 economy seats and 58 business class seats. The updated Emirates high-density A380 has seen a reduction of 120 economy seats while adding 56 premium economy seats and 18 additional business class seats.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
