Hyderabad.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The custom-built Air India Boeing 787-9 arrived at Delhi Airport on <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sunday, 11 January<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, from <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Boeing\u2019s facility in Washington<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Registered as VT-AWA,\u00a0 the aircraft operated a special charter flight from Delhi to Hyderabad\u2019s old Begumpet Airport. Notably, Air India confirmed that these newly designed cabin interiors will be introduced across its entire Boeing 787 fleet.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Sleek_Interiors_of_First_Made-for-Air_India_Boeing_787-9\"><\/span><b>Sleek Interiors of First Made-for-Air India Boeing 787-9<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The new B787-9 features three classes: <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Business<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Premium Economy<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Economy<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, accommodating up to <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">296 passengers<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. In <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Economy<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>238 lightweight ergonomic seats<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> offer improved comfort, standard <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">11.6-inch 4K screens<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and both <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Type-A <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Type-C<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> charging options. However, only <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">220 Economy seats are currently available<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for booking due to pending regulatory approvals for some seats. The Air India Boeing 787-9 <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Premium Economy<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> cabin <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">includes 28 seats<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in a <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2-3-2 configuration<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">roomy legroom<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">adjustable headrests<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">calf and leg rests<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">larger 4K screens<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">fast-charging ports<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>The Air India <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.indianeagle.com\/traveldiary\/air-india-business-class-seats-for-nonstop-flights-from-usa-to-india\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Business Class<\/b><\/a><b> in the new B787-9 has 30 suites in a 1-2-1 layout. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This gives every passenger direct aisle access. These suites convert into <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">fully flat beds <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and include a <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">42-inch pitch<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">17-inch 4K entertainment screens<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">wireless charging<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bluetooth audio pairing<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and multiple <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">USB <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Type-C power outlets<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. There is also ample storage, vanity mirrors, and lighting features inspired by Indian design motifs. However, the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">sliding privacy doors in the Business Class suites are awaiting regulatory clearance <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and are not yet accessible to passengers. Reportedly, three more custom-built Boeing 787-9s will join the Air India fleet this year.
