Although we have to agree, this new Airbus A320neo aircraft is not less than a trophy for Air India. <\/span>The airline welcomed its first A320 narrow body with swanky new livery at the Delhi Airport on 7th July.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

The new Air India A320neo aircraft bears a registration of VT-RTN. <\/b>This is a <\/span>tribute to Ratan Tata<\/span><\/i>, the former Chairman of Tata Group. The brand new jet flew from <\/span>Toulouse-Blagnac Airport to Delhi<\/span><\/i>, covering a distance of <\/span>6,784 kilometers<\/span><\/i> in around eight hours and 17 minutes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

About Air India\u2019s A320 Narrow Body Aircraft<\/b><\/h2>\n

The new Airbus A320neo aircraft is <\/span>powered by CFM International LEAP-1A engines<\/span><\/i>. This ensures efficient and environmentally friendly operations. Air India passengers will have a seamless flight as this narrowbody aircraft is currently configured with 186 economy seats. According to sources, it will be retrofitted to include <\/span>132 Economy seats<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>24 Premium Economy seats<\/span><\/i>, and <\/span>8 <\/span><\/i>Business Class seats<\/span><\/i><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The A320neo in Air India fleet stands out for its environmental performance.<\/b> It boasts at least 20% lesser fuel burn and CO2 emissions when compared to older A320 narrow body models. Additionally, it has a <\/span>50% reduction in noise footprint<\/span><\/i>. The Expanding Air India Fleet<\/b><\/h2>\n

Currently, Air India operates a diverse fleet of 143 aircraft. This includes <\/span>56 A320 family jets<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>17 A321s<\/span><\/i>,<\/span> 6 Airbus A350 aircraft<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>27 Boeing 777<\/span><\/i> and <\/span>787-8 Dreamliners<\/span><\/i> along with <\/span>10 A319 jets<\/span><\/i>. Additionally, <\/span>Vistara<\/span><\/i>, a part of the Air India Group, <\/span>operates 70 jets<\/span><\/i>, including A320neos, A321neos, and Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners. <\/span>Air India Express<\/span><\/i> and <\/span>AIX Connect<\/span><\/i> collectively add another <\/span>80 jets<\/span><\/i> to the group\u2019s fleet.<\/span><\/p>\n
