India secured two spots in AttractionTickets.com’s World’s Happiest Airports 2026 rankings, reflecting the country’s growing focus on improving the passenger experience.

Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru emerged as India’s highest-ranked airport. With 18.6 out of 20, it shared third place with Bahrain International Airport in the world’s most family-friendly airports ranking.

Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport ranked fourth globally with a score of 18.5 out of 20. The narrow gap between Hyderabad and Bengaluru reflects the high standards of passenger experience maintained by both airports in the World’s Happiest Airports 2026 rankings.

Evaluation Criteria Behind the Happiest Airports 2026 

The World’s Happiest Airports 2026 rankings evaluated more than 140 airports across the globe. The study identified the world’s most family-friendly airports by assessing a few factors that influence the travel experience for families. 

The study considered:

• Google review ratings
• Children’s play areas
• Family security screening lanes
• Baby-changing stations
• Stroller services
• Rest and sleeping areas
• Wi-Fi quality
• Airport size
• Facilities for neurodivergent passengers

The strong global rankings of Bengaluru and Hyderabad airports underline India’s rising standards in airport infrastructure and passenger experience.
