The United States is a nation well-known for its geographical diversity and the country’s national parks are treasure troves of some of the most surreal landscapes on the planet. A visit to the US national parks is a bucket-list item for travelers. While there are more than 400 national park sites (which include around 63 designated national parks) in the United States, not all of them are free to visit about 108 sites including the famous Grand Canyon National Park and Yosemite National Park charge an admission fee that ranges between $5 and $35 or beyond. However, there are certain days in a year when you can visit the US national parks for free!

The National Park Service (NPS) announced five entrance fee-free days for 2023. The five days, spread in the months of January, April, August, September, and November, mark significant days in the US calendar. By waiving entry fees to the US National parks on select days (some of which are national holidays), NPS encourages people to spend a day in the lap of mother nature and enjoy access to the great outdoors for free. Although entry is free, visitors have to pay for transportation within the park as well as certain amenities and activities (including camping and special tours).

Here are the five entrance fee-free days to US National Parks in 2023:

16th January; in commemoration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

22nd April; to mark the first day of National Park Week.

4th August; to celebrate the Great American Outdoors Day.

23rd September; to observe National Public Lands Day.

11th November; in honor of Veteran’s Day

Outdoor lovers; grab this opportunity to visit the top US National parks for free! Plan your trip to the USA around these fee-free days and save a small portion of your travel expenses. For huge savings on airfare, book your flight tickets via Indian Eagle and earn reward points too!
