Missing an important baseball game because you’re on a flight can be frustrating. United Airlines is making it easier for fans to keep up with the action, even at 35,000 feet. The airline has added TBS to its live TV lineup through a partnership with DISH, bringing Major League Baseball (MLB) postseason games to select flights equipped with Starlink-enabled seatback screens. The service is available on more than 200 aircraft with Starlink-enabled seatback screens. Passengers on eligible flights can watch nearly every MLB postseason game live, subject to the broadcast schedule and aircraft availability. United also offers free Starlink Wi-Fi to MileagePlus members across all cabin classes on equipped flights.

United Airlines Brings Live MLB Playoff Games to Inflight Screens

Baseball fans flying with United can now catch some of the biggest games of the season live without waiting until they land, provided their aircraft supports the service. With TBS joining its onboard entertainment lineup, the airline offers coverage of the American League Championship Series (ALCS), the National League Championship Series (NLCS), and the World Series. The addition gives baseball fans another entertainment option during both short and long journeys. There’s one thing passengers should keep in mind, though. Not every United aircraft offers live baseball streaming. The service requires Starlink-enabled seatback screens, and game availability depends on broadcast schedules.

Which Live Sports Channels Are Available on United Airlines?

Baseball isn’t the only sport passengers can enjoy onboard. United already offers a range of live sports and entertainment through its partnership with DISH. The addition of TBS gives travelers even more choices. Here’s a look at the available channels and programming sources:

• TBS: MLB postseason games and other live programs.
• ABC: Sports events, TV shows, and entertainment.
• CBS: NFL games, college sports, and other programs.
• NBC: Live sports, news, and entertainment.
• FOX: Major sporting events, including baseball.
• FS1: Baseball, college sports, and other competitions.
• ESPN: Live games, sports news, and analysis.
• ESPN2: Additional sports events and related programs.
• NFL Network: Professional football games and coverage.
• Thursday Night Football on Prime Video: Live NFL Thursday night games.

With these options, passengers have a better chance of catching their favorite teams in action instead of relying on highlights after landing.

Is Starlink Wi-Fi Free on United Airlines?

Yes, United offers free Starlink Wi-Fi to MileagePlus members on aircraft equipped with the service. It doesn’t matter whether you’re flying in economy or a premium cabin. Eligible passengers can connect without paying an additional Wi-Fi fee.

Starlink allows connected travelers to browse websites, send messages, and use supported online services during their flight, subject to the applicable access conditions. This can be especially useful on long journeys when passengers want to stay connected or pass the time. However, free internet access doesn’t automatically mean live baseball games will be available on your flight. United’s DISH service brings live TV to compatible seatback screens, while Starlink provides the internet connection. It’s worth checking your flight’s entertainment options before you travel.

What Does United’s Live MLB Streaming Mean for Travelers?

For sports fans, access to live games can make flying more enjoyable, especially during the MLB playoffs. Whether it’s a close playoff matchup or a championship game, passengers on eligible aircraft can follow the action from their seats. The new offering also makes longer flights more enjoyable. Reliable Wi-Fi and live sports coverage may also influence how people choose flights. While ticket prices, schedules, and routes remain important, onboard entertainment can make a difference, especially for frequent travelers.

United expects to complete Starlink installations across its fleet before the end of 2027, bringing faster internet and improved entertainment options to more passengers.
