Qatar Airways has made changes to its planned Airbus A380 schedule for 2027. According to recent aviation reports, the airline has removed most of its planned A380 services between Doha and Singapore from late March 2027. Instead, it plans to use the Airbus A350-900 on the affected services. The airline is also adjusting A380 frequencies on other international routes.

Qatar Airways Removes Most A380 Flights to Singapore in 2027

Qatar Airways had planned to resume A380 services between Hamad International Airport in Doha (DOH) and Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) in late March 2027. However, the latest published schedules indicate that most of these services will use a different aircraft. One A380 service remains listed for April 5, 2027, according to the schedule data reported on October 28, 2026.

The airline used its double-decker Airbus A380 on some flights between Doha and Singapore in January and February 2026. Flight records show that the last scheduled A380 service before the planned return was on February 28, 2026. Qatar Airways originally planned to resume A380 services to Singapore in September 2026. It later moved the return date to March 2027, but the latest published schedules no longer show the planned regular A380 return.

This does not mean Qatar Airways is stopping flights to Singapore. The airline will continue serving the route, but passengers will mostly travel on the Airbus A350 family instead of the A380.

Airbus A350-900 Replaces A380 on Qatar Airways Singapore Flights

Qatar Airways is scheduled to use the Airbus A350-900 on services previously listed for the A380 from late March 2027.

The Airbus A380 is a large, double-decker aircraft with 517 seats in the configuration cited in the report. It offers First Class, Business Class and Economy Class. The A350-900 is smaller and has 283 seats in the configuration listed for the Singapore route. These include 36 Business Class seats and 247 Economy Class seats.

This means the A350-900 has 234 fewer seats than the A380. However, the aircraft change does not mean Qatar Airways is reducing the scheduled frequency of flights between Doha and Singapore.

Passengers who want to travel on the A380, especially in First Class, may need to check their booking and aircraft assignment. They can check the aircraft type on the Qatar Airways website when booking and again before departure, as aircraft assignments can change.

Qatar Airways Increases London Heathrow Flights but Cuts A380 Frequencies

While Singapore will see fewer planned A380 services, Qatar Airways is increasing its total weekly flights to London Heathrow, although its A380 frequencies are scheduled to decrease during parts of the winter 2026–27 season.

According to schedule reports, Qatar Airways plans to operate 14 weekly A380 flights to London Heathrow initially, reducing to 10 weekly flights from January 11, 2027, and seven weekly flights from March 1, 2027.

The airline’s increase in total London services may provide more flight options, but it does not necessarily mean more opportunities to fly on the A380. The number of services may change depending on the travel date.

Which Other Routes Will Qatar Airways Operate With the A380 in 2027?

Qatar Airways also plans to operate its Airbus A380 on selected flights to Bangkok and Paris during parts of the 2026–27 schedule. The airline’s published schedule lists up to 11 weekly A380 flights between Doha and Bangkok during parts of the winter 2026–27 schedule. It also plans to use the aircraft on daily flights to Paris during parts of the winter schedule.

However, the reported schedule does not list A380 services to Paris in April and May 2027.

The airline has already reduced A380 operations on some other routes. Sydney and Perth in Australia had regular A380 services in 2025, but the reported schedule no longer lists Qatar Airways A380 services on those routes.

There has also been a change to the airline’s Guangzhou flights. Qatar Airways had planned to resume A380 services on this route from October 25, 2026. However, the latest reported schedule no longer lists the A380 for this route.

Flights to Guangzhou will continue, with the airline scheduled to use the Boeing 777-300ER instead.

Why Is Qatar Airways Changing Its A380 Flight Schedule?

Airlines often change the aircraft they use based on passenger demand, operating costs and the number of seats needed on a route. The Airbus A380 can carry more passengers, making it useful for busy routes. The A350-900 is smaller and may be a better choice when fewer seats are needed.

Qatar Airways may be making these changes to align aircraft capacity with demand and operational requirements. However, the airline has not given an official reason for removing most of its planned A380 flights to Singapore.
