An AI-powered hologram “Guest Experience Ambassador” launched on May 12, 2026, at LaGuardia Airport in New York City.  The system is designed to provide real-time airport assistance, passenger navigation, and multilingual support. The first AI hologram unit is located near the Terminal B Food Hall, with more units planned across both concourses to expand coverage. 

How the AI Airport Assistant Works

The deployment introduces a life-size interactive AI hologram named Bridget, which appears as a hyper-realistic, life-sized figure and often surprises travelers with its human-like presence. The system is powered by Proto’s display technology and Holomedia’s AI Concierge Wayfinder platform, which together enable conversational interaction, real-time language understanding, and delivery of airport information and navigation guidance. It processes passenger queries through a digital interface that interprets requests and provides relevant, immediate responses. Bridget currently communicates in English and Spanish, with additional languages expected to be added over time.

Airport Smart Assistant Features and Functions 

The interactive AI system includes the following features.

• AI-powered airport wayfinding and navigation assistance 
• Real-time directions to gates, shops, lounges, and baggage claim 
• Multilingual support (English and Spanish, with more languages planned) 
• Accessibility features including high-contrast display and closed captioning 
• Wheelchair-accessible interface design 
• Operational support during peak passenger traffic periods 

It is built to work alongside human guest service staff rather than substitute for them.

With this installation, LaGuardia Terminal B is the first in the industry to deploy a fully interactive AI hologram designed for airport guest service and wayfinding.
