Planning to visit Vietnam from Mumbai? IndiGo is adding a new direct flight option for travelers. IndiGo will start daily direct flights between Mumbai and Hanoi on October 25, 2026. The new service will let passengers fly to Vietnam’s capital without a stopover. It will also give travelers from Mumbai more choices when planning a holiday or business trip. Here’s what you should know about the new IndiGo Mumbai to Hanoi flights.

IndiGo Mumbai to Hanoi Flight Schedule and Timings

IndiGo plans to run daily flights between Mumbai and Hanoi from October 25, 2026. Here’s the flight schedule published by IndiGo:

Route Flight Number Departure Arrival Frequency
Mumbai to Hanoi 6E 1637 4:15 AM 10:00 AM Daily
Hanoi to Mumbai 6E 1638 7:05 PM 11:05 PM Daily

All timings are local. The schedule is subject to regulatory approvals. The flight from Mumbai will arrive in Hanoi at 10:00 AM. This means travelers will have much of the day left to explore the city or check into their hotel. The return flight will leave Hanoi at 7:05 PM and reach Mumbai at 11:05 PM. Flight timings can change, so check the latest schedule on IndiGo’s website before booking your tickets.

IndiGoStretch Will Be Available on Mumbai to Hanoi Flights

Passengers who want a little more comfort can book IndiGoStretch on the new route. IndiGoStretch is the airline’s premium business-class product. It offers wider seats, extra legroom, and additional services compared with Economy. Here’s what comes with IndiGoStretch:

  • Wider seats: More room for a comfortable journey.
  • Extra legroom: Additional space to stretch your legs.
  • Better recline: Seats with adjustable headrests and enhanced recline.
  • Free hot meals: Complimentary hot meals are included with IndiGoStretch on this route.
  • Charging points: Passengers can charge compatible devices using the in-seat charging outlet.
  • Priority services: Priority airport services, including check-in and boarding.

IndiGoStretch may be worth considering if you want more space or are traveling for work. However, the ticket will generally cost more than a regular Economy fare, so compare the prices before choosing. Check the fare conditions and included services when booking.

IndiGo Adds Another Direct Flight Route to Vietnam

IndiGo already operates daily direct flights to Hanoi from Delhi and Kolkata. Mumbai will become another Indian city with direct IndiGo connectivity to Hanoi. This means passengers from Mumbai, Delhi, and Kolkata will have IndiGo nonstop flight options to Vietnam’s capital.

For people living in Mumbai and nearby areas, the new route offers another way to reach Hanoi without a stop in another city. It could also help business travelers who visit Vietnam regularly.

Why Do Indian Travelers Like Visiting Vietnam?

Vietnam has become a popular holiday choice for many Indians. One reason is that travelers can find options for different budgets, depending on the season and travel style. The country has beautiful beaches, mountains, old towns, busy markets, and plenty of places to eat.

You can plan a family holiday, travel with friends, or explore the country on your own. There are also hotels and restaurants for different budgets, making Vietnam a good option for travelers who want to manage their expenses. With more direct flights from India, planning a Vietnam trip is becoming easier.

Places to Visit in Hanoi

Hanoi is a busy city with old buildings, street markets, cafés, and plenty of local food. If you’re visiting for the first time, there are a few places worth adding to your plan.

  • Hoan Kiem Lake: A popular spot for a walk, particularly in the morning or evening.
  • Hanoi Old Quarter: A popular area with narrow streets, small shops, cafés, and local food stalls.
  • Temple of Literature: A historic place where you can learn more about Vietnamese culture.
  • Ha Long Bay: Known for its limestone islands and boat cruises. It is a separate destination that can be visited on a day trip or longer excursion from Hanoi.

You can also spend time trying local dishes, visiting museums, or simply walking around the city.

How Will the New Mumbai to Hanoi Flights Help Travelers?

The main benefit is another direct flight option between Mumbai and Hanoi. Travelers won’t need to change planes, which can make the trip easier, especially for families and people carrying luggage. Since IndiGo plans to operate the route daily, passengers will have more flexibility when choosing travel dates.

Those who want extra comfort can book IndiGoStretch, while others can choose regular Economy. The new route will also strengthen direct air connectivity between India and Vietnam.

IndiGo’s new Mumbai to Hanoi flights will give travelers another way to reach Vietnam. With daily nonstop services scheduled to begin on October 25, 2026, passengers from Mumbai will have more options for holidays and business trips.

Air India and IndiGo are reshaping their international networks after temporary flight cuts in 2026. Higher fuel prices, longer flight paths, and airspace restrictions, forced both airlines to reduce services on several domestic and international routes. Many of these changes were temporary. As airlines prepare for the winter schedule, most suspended and reduced services are returning.

Why Did Air India and IndiGo Cut Flights?

The West Asia conflict increased aviation fuel costs and affected flight paths across several regions. Airlines had to avoid restricted airspace, which increased flying time and operating expenses. Air India announced temporary reductions and suspensions of some international routes from June and August 2026.  IndiGo also reduced parts of its international network and later announced plans to end its widebody damp-lease operations with Norse Atlantic Airways.

Air India North America Flights: Chicago Remains Suspended

Air India has restored or increased service on several North America routes. The airline is restoring more flights to San Francisco, Vancouver, Newark, Toronto, and New York JFK. The airline’s key changes include:

  • San Francisco returns to ten weekly flights
  • Air India plans to operate Toronto as a nonstop service with Boeing 787-9 aircraft
  • Vancouver returns to daily operations
  • Mumbai–New York JFK returns to daily service
  • Delhi–Newark returns with 4 flights weekly
  • Mumbai–Newark operates three times a week

However, Chicago remains absent from Air India’s latest reported winter network update. The airline once operated the route daily during its peak schedule, but Chicago does not return in the current network update.

Air India Restores More Europe Flights

Air India also reduced services to Rome, Paris, Vienna, Copenhagen, Milan, and Zurich. The airline is now restoring many of these flights for the winter season. Delhi–Paris will continue with one daily flight, lower than the previous two daily services.

  • Copenhagen: four weekly flights
  • Milan: daily flights
  • Rome: four weekly flights
  • Zurich: five weekly flights
  • Vienna: four weekly flights

IndiGo Ends Its Norse Atlantic Widebody Operations

IndiGo will discontinue its widebody operations in October. Its damp-lease agreement with Norse Atlantic Airways will end on October 31, 2026. IndiGo used Boeing 787-9 aircraft to operate long-haul flights to Amsterdam, London Heathrow, Manchester, and Copenhagen. IndiGo will return the leased aircraft to the Norse Atlantic. However, flights to London Heathrow and Manchester will not continue under the current widebody arrangement.

IndiGo has ordered Airbus A350 aircraft for its future long-haul plans. The airline expects its first A350 deliveries from late 2027 or early 2028.

Australia Gets More Air India Flights

Air India is increasing its focus on Australia. Melbourne will receive more flights and larger aircraft, while Sydney returns to daily service. The airline plans to operate Boeing 777 aircraft on Melbourne flights and increase the schedule to 11 weekly services. Sydney will return to daily operations. These changes will give travellers more Air India flight options between India and Australia.

Asia and South Asia Flights Return

Air India is restoring several services across the Far East, Southeast Asia, and SAARC region. The airline resumed flight routes to Shanghai and plans to increase services on routes such as:

  • Delhi to Singapore
  • Mumbai to Singapore
  • Delhi to Kuala Lumpur
  • Mumbai to Bangkok
  • Delhi to Ho Chi Minh City
  • Delhi to Bangkok

Air India Express will operate the Chennai to Singapore service instead of Air India. IndiGo is also bringing back flights to Shanghai, Krabi, Hong Kong, and Langkawi. However, Ho Chi Minh City does not return to IndiGo’s latest network plan. The airline instead announced a new Mumbai–Hanoi service.

How Do These Airline Changes Affect Travellers?

Air India & IndiGo are restoring most international flights, but route schedules may still change because of fuel prices, demand, and airspace conditions. Before booking, travellers should:

  • Check the latest flight schedule
  • Compare layover times and total journey duration
  • Review airline baggage rules
  • Confirm the aircraft type, especially on long-haul routes
  • Read fare-change and cancellation conditions carefully

IndiGo and Air India are rebuilding their international networks, but they are doing so carefully.  Ho Chi Minh City and Chicago remain the major exceptions in the latest network changes.
