Philadelphia is set to host several FIFA World Cup matches this summer. The first match will take place on Sunday, featuring Côte d’Ivoire and Ecuador. The match schedule includes:

• June 14: Côte d’Ivoire vs. Ecuador, 7 p.m.
• June 19: Brazil vs. Haiti, 9 p.m.
• June 22: France vs. Iraq, 5 p.m.
• June 25: Curaçao vs. Côte d’Ivoire, 4 p.m.
• June 27: Croatia vs. Ghana, 5 p.m.
• July 4: Round of 16 match, 5 p.m.

July 4 America 250 Celebration 

Philadelphia’s Independence Day celebration will serve as part of the nation’s 250th birthday festivities. The July 4 concert on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway will feature performances by celebrities including Christina Aguilera, Jill Scott, and Will Smith. The concert begins at 5 p.m., with gates opening at 3 p.m. A fireworks display is scheduled for 11:45 p.m.

MLB All-Star Week Events in Philly 

The city will also host MLB All-Star Week from July 10 through July 14. The multi-day celebration will include:

• HBCU Swingman Classic
• Home Run Derby
• MLB All-Star Game
• Youth baseball and softball tournaments at FDR Park
• All-Star Village
• MLB Draft at the Pennsylvania Convention Center
• All-Star Futures Game
• MLBx fan events

As Philadelphia prepares to welcome thousands of visitors this summer, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has introduced a new online tool to help residents and travelers navigate major events across the city. 

The new website, available at 511pa.com/PhillyEvents, provides real-time traffic information for several high-profile events, including the FIFA Fan Festival, FIFA World Cup matches, the America 250 celebration on July 4, and MLB All-Star Week. 

The site features live traffic maps showing travel times, road incidents, traffic speeds, and construction activity. Travelers can also use the “My Route” planning feature to map out their trips before heading to event venues.

Real-Time Travel Information for Major Summer Events 

PennDOT has created dedicated pages for three major events: 

• FIFA World Cup matches at Lincoln Financial Field, which is being called Philadelphia Stadium during the tournament
• FIFA Fan Festival at Lemon Hill in Fairmount Park 
• America 250 Celebration on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway on July 4 

A dedicated page for MLB All-Star Week is expected to be added soon.

To improve traffic management, PennDOT will also display real-time travel updates on electronic message boards throughout the region. The agency plans to install 32 additional message boards and activate 40 extra traffic cameras to support visitors and local drivers during the busy event season. The website also provides links to regional public transportation agencies, parking resources, the Indego bike-share program, and event-specific travel tips.
