Planning your baby’s first international trip is exciting. It also comes with many questions. One of the most common is: Does my baby need a passport to fly international?

The answer is yes. Even if your baby is only a few weeks old, they must have their own passport for international air travel. Age does not change this requirement. Every passenger, including infants, needs valid travel documents.

Can a Birth Certificate Replace a Passport?

Yes. If your baby is traveling by air, a valid passport is required.
