The building covers approximately 355,000 square feet, providing more room for passengers, check-in areas and airport services. It has 14 boarding gates, the same number as the previous terminal complex. The new facility also brings several airport services together in one building, helping travelers move from check-in to security and boarding more easily.

Unlike many larger airports, Hollywood Burbank Airport allows passengers to walk across the tarmac and board aircraft via outdoor stairs. Travelers can access the new terminal via Winona Avenue and Hollywood Way rather than the former entrance off Thornton Avenue. A new parking structure near the terminal has more than 2,000 spaces. Passengers can also use valet parking and designated areas for pickup and drop-off.
