The new “Dubai Welcome” initiative features live music, complimentary refreshments, personalized welcome signs and family-friendly activities. Dubai Airports created the initiative for residents returning home after the summer, tourists visiting the city and passengers taking connecting flights.

What Is the Dubai Welcome Initiative?

The Dubai Welcome initiative gives passengers a warm introduction to the city. It brings traditional Arabian hospitality to different areas of Dubai International Airport. Passengers can enjoy music, refreshments, treats and interactive activities during their journey. The experiences are available at key points, including baggage claim, the Arrivals Hall, transfer desks and the Dubai Taxi area. These thoughtful additions make the airport journey more welcoming and memorable.

Live Music and Mascots Welcome Arriving Passengers

A local musician performs in the Arrivals area, creating a lively atmosphere and introducing visitors to Dubai’s culture. Mascots from Dubai Police and immigration services greet young passengers, making the experience more enjoyable for families. These activities welcome both residents returning home and international visitors arriving in the city.

Families Can Create Personalized Welcome Signs

Families and friends waiting for passengers can visit the “Make Your Welcome Home Sign” station in the Arrivals area. Visitors can decorate signs with colorful stickers and Dubai-inspired designs. They can add a traveler’s name or write a personal message. This creative activity adds a special touch to airport reunions and helps families welcome their loved ones home.

Free Refreshments Near the Dubai Taxi Area

Passengers leaving Terminal 3 by Dubai Taxi can receive complimentary refreshments, cold towels and treats. Several local businesses and airport partners support this experience. The refreshments and cold towels help passengers feel more comfortable after a long journey. However, these complimentary items are subject to availability.

Special Activities for Transit Passengers

Passengers taking connecting flights can also enjoy special experiences during their layover. A live musical performance inspired by regional sounds introduces transit passengers to Dubai’s music and culture, even if they spend only a few hours at the airport. Selected transfer desks also offer complimentary refreshments and treats. These activities make layovers more comfortable and enjoyable.

Visit the I Heart DXB Installation Near Gate B28

Travelers can explore the I Heart DXB display near Gate B28 in Terminal 3’s Concourse B. Visitors can upload a selfie and become part of a shared digital portrait of Dubai. The installation displays the portrait in the colors of the UAE flag. Visitors can also:

• Write a personal message to express pride and gratitude
• Read messages from other travelers
• Collect limited-edition stickers and pins

The installation is in the airside area near Gate B28. Only eligible departing and transit passengers traveling through Concourse B can access this airside display. Dubai Airports designed it to help passengers connect with the city before their flights. Each selfie adds to the growing digital portrait. 

Where Are the Welcome Experiences Available?

The experiences are available at Dubai International Airport Terminal 3. Passengers can find different activities in the following areas:

• Baggage claim
• Arrivals Hall
• Dubai Taxi area
• Transit zones
• Selected transfer desks
• Concourse B near Gate B28

Each location offers a different activity. Passengers can follow airport signs or ask a Guest Experience Ambassador for assistance. The initiative will run throughout August 2026. Dubai Airports has not confirmed whether it will continue after August.

Passengers traveling during August 2026 can find these experiences in the Arrivals Hall, baggage claim, transit areas and near Gate B28.
